Interesting thread on Viking Chat

http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?topic=260261.0

Whilst it is fair to say that most Towns have their fair share of good and bad parts, to suggest that Donny is so much better than Grimsby is tosh.

Living in the fair county of Yorkshire, I get to Donny on plenty of occasions and there are parts that are, well excrement.

Mind you if you travel just outside Donny then you get to those marvellous places such as Armthorpe, Conisbrough, Mexborough, Denaby that make the Nunsthorpe Estate look like Mayfair.

I get your point Donny is like any other town in that respect, however South Elmsall isn't part of Donny, thankfully!!

Let's all play your sh1t town is sh1tter than our sh1t town. I worked in Donny for a while and it's your typical northern town with good bits and bad bits, just like Grimsby in fact. Which town has the most bad bits is open to debate but we do boast the most deprived ward in the entire UK, so that's something to be proud of.

GY suffers the reputation because fans enter and leave by some of the worst bits and see the main reason for our demise, namely the crumbling remains of the fish dock. The crumbling old ground doesn't add much to the reputation either.

Agree with Ginny not much between these towns tbh both got got plenty of problems, the only major plus for donny is good train and road links to the north and south
