To be fair, still a long way in the season. 2 weeks ago, you were "relegation fodder". Can't predict anything in this god-forsaken league,

yeah maybe it may have looked that way from an outsider but in my opinion i don't think many grimsby fans would agree as most new that our performances have not been that bad and we were always going to improve whereas a lincoln friend of mine has told me they are dire and unlikely to improve unless big changes are made at player and managerial level

It was awful at the bank and the fans have turned against the club,Tilson can't see him getting us out of it.
One win in 19 games ,the players 3 from Gills all not bad ,3 players who were their clubs player of the year,Taylor top goal scorer last season ,seems to say the manager cannot motivate the team.

Don't want to rub salt in the wound but that was a game you really should've got something from, though we are still at the 'early days' stage of the season so maybe he needs a bit more time?

Barring bankruptcy or general financial catastrophe, has a former Football League club ever even been relegated from the BSP/Conference?

Don't think so but i think Lincoln were the first to drop into it and come straight back up.Maybe they will be the first to drop down to the BSN,though i think they will get their act together eventually.

They were like a pub team and never seen a bad a side as them.
They never looked like scoring and i said that the only way they could win is if we let them.
We did by letting them in one nil heads down game over and thats a Tilson side for you.
Completely different team yet the same inept performance that says to me its the manager
I was told he went to the board last season and stated he could not motivate the players feck me if he can't do that he can't call himself a manager.
The fans have turned against the club so i can't see him or the board enjoying a comfortable ride over the next few games.

Could have written that about us at times in the recent past.Sounds like your players are severely lacking in confidence. It takes a while to find your feet in this league as it's not the cakewalk teams imagine it will be.

Not forgetting the fact that smaller clubs will treat trips to grounds like Sincil Bank akin to cup finals.

It happened to us in League One as well and I never understood why they thought the Walkers so special. Then I went to Hartlepool.

The problem is most are from this league,Taylor ,Perry,Power,Smith,Russel. I feel the manager can't motivate them he says he wants them to go out and express themselves ,we the fans say get stuck in and fight.

I'm not sure of their relegation circumstances, but when Scarborough went bust they were in the Conference North.

I couldn't remember what league they were in when they went belly up.

The bible that is Wikipedia says the following however.

Despite finishing bottom of the table in 2005/06, Scarborough were not initially relegated, as Canvey Island resigned from the league and Altrincham were deducted 18 points for fielding an ineligible player, meaning that they occupied bottom position instead. However the Conference were not convinced of the club's financial stability, and Scarborough ended up suffering the same fate as Northwich Victoria had the previous year by being relegated to the Conference North.

So dire financial straights and pretty poor on the pitch as well. Look as though they were done all ends up.

An easy mistake to make given my username.

'LCFC' suffices in most circumstances, I can't even put LCFC 1884 as their club was founded in the same year.

Very true Bilo but let's look on the bright side. Lincoln may soon be LCFC 1884 - 2012.

Thing is, there are still gimps fans that don't want to or can't see how bad a mess the club is in. However bad we think our mess was, we all knew after we went down that it wouldn't be easy etc but too many Lincoln fans thought the opposite. They mocked us and other clubs in pre season for buying crap players when truth be told it was they who bought excrement.

They brought players in from league clubs who had been on loan at Lincoln, they were obviously excrement because they helped get them relegated so why would they suddenly become good for Lincoln? Tilson obviously isn't the right man for the job, their board seem worse than ours. They could lose their ground soon and there is little or no investment...

Made me chuckle with Aryan coming on here saying how bad our signings were and that they'd signed some "quality" players.

He isn't really tearing up any trees down at the bank though...everyday there seems to be something in the echo blaming something else for their issues when none of the players or management/board will just come out and say they are excrement, the manager isn't seemingly doing his job properly and the players aren't good enough....

yeah i agree, after all said and done we are both lincolnshire clubs and therefore it would be good to us BOTH to be playing as high up the leagues as possible.
yes there are morons and chavs in both clubs giving it large but when you speak to normal, balanced, adult, football loving fans of both lincoln and grimsby you come to realise we all love our clubs and don't really get pleasure from the demise of each other.
i certainly wouldn't want lincoln to lose their ground or drop out of football due to finances,i like going to the derby games with them and walking around lincoln is a pleasant day out.
the only exception i would make is scunthorpe, they do really hate us and if something bad happened to that shower of shite then i don't think i would feel the same sadness as i would for a club like lincoln,or even boston!
you see even non football fans of scunny call us codheads and hate us so its nothing to do with football rivalry,i know this hatred having been married to a winterton girl for the last twenty years and listened to some of the comments at weddings/parties/family events etc(they don't know im a town fan).

yeah i agree, after all said and done we are both lincolnshire clubs and therefore it would be good to us BOTH to be playing as high up the leagues as possible.
yes there are morons and chavs in both clubs giving it large but when you speak to normal, balanced, adult, football loving fans of both lincoln and grimsby you come to realise we all love our clubs and don't really get pleasure from the demise of each other.

Of course we know how crap we are,the players brought in Sinclair,Nutter from Gillingham are not bad but Sinclair has been injured, there's only Gowling that we signed after a loan.
Three players were their player of the season ,while Taylor was top goal scorer at his club.

It does seem that Tilson could not motival the players last season we needed one point to stay up out of 33 available,we then get in a new team and its the same old cack go one down heads drop.
I feel he's lost his touch and with a bit of hindsight he should have been sacked in the summer after our gutless demise.
Losing the ground? thats a first on me, the council gave us it and it has a covernate on it to stop any dodgy deals going down.
The chairman put in 100k in the summer because the season ticket sales went from 1.8k to 900.

The club thought that the EGM had settled matters but on saturday it started to boil over again ,2 more defeats and i can see things happening.

Indeed.  Lots of discontent at Stockport as well re the takeover (or lack of it).  This league really is wide open this season.

iv'e not seen the need to mention it to them, some of them are scunt supporters, and trust me on this they detest us with a passion.
my first town game was grimsby v derby at the baseball ground when tony ford was playing for us!,there was two lads in the town end dressed in klu klux klan outfits!!!!!!!!! can anyone remember that? and the tunnel we had to walk through to get to the ground where we got ambushed by their skinheads?.................i was 8years old !!!!!!!!!! my next game was town v walsall at b.p. in the late80s i think.

The covenant on the ground will mean sodomist all when a large building company put an offer on the table knowing full well the club need cash.
The EGM in the summer seemed a waste of time, as an outsider looking in, nothing was sorted and the problems etc remained.
Tilson is clearly struggling as are some of the players. After Lincoln went down many a person came out and blamed someone or something else which didn't help morale, team spirit etc. I can't see tilson lasting until christmas if things carry on.

Seeing Dorian in the pub occasionally, he seems more and more stressed etc as time goes by, but just like us, I suppose you've got to make do and try and solve the problems with very little cash and players clearly not good enough...they may have been player of the year at their previous club but that means buggerall, so was Matt heywood and he's the worst town player ever.

You do know how bad your issues are but believe me, I've spoken to Lincoln fans who don't, or won't open their eyes to them...

Onwards and upwards for us and I'm sure it'll eventually be the same for gimps.

No, Cambridge was deemed as 'rather lucky' and we had 2 points deducted. Officially it is now a draw.

Silly me,forgot you were only awarded points in games that were won if "you deserved them".

A bit like Darlington did against us.

I agree with this, if we win on saturday it will 3 in a row for the first time for years, Lincoln are a team used to losing like we were last year ( how many times did we throw away points by letting in late goals as we tried to hang on?) it is no surprise either that promoted teams start well even if they are above their natural level, a winning mentality  and confidence both from players and fans is worth a goal start every game. Lincoln need a year like we did just to steady the ship, I am not saying we are nearly there yet but everything about GTFC feels more positive at the moment.  We got so used to moaning as fans that it became the default position, we expected a load of crap and got on the team/manager at every turn for a team especially with young players to play confidently in this enviroment is nearly impossible, this is were we were and lincoln are now

We should Lord it up over Lincoln all the more because of how the majority gloated when we slipped out of the league

I don't really give a excrement about Lincoln or whether they honour of business or sky rocket into the prima Donna league, however I do like to chuckle to myself at the thought of all the Lincoln fans who genuinely thought 4 wins in January would keep them up, it should've done but in reality they weren't good enough and in some respects were worse than us...that is why I laugh, and the constant blaming of something or someone else is also very funny to observe...

You are correct that there is a degree of denial with our fans, we are complete s.hite at the moment but the majority think they can see the green shoots of recovery.

Probably on an MCFC messageboard now.

Probably not, but enjoyed the Napoli game on Weds immensely. Working in Sheffield last week so just nipped over the Pennines and all for just £28, probably not much more than you wasted today ..... Cods play-off push on hold till Tuesday then?

poor aryan, caught in a twilight world of loyally supporting his home town club,or blindly jumping on the cash cow bandwagon that is manchester city.

A tad rich coming from someone who has kept his GTFC identity a secret from his nearest and dearest for the past 20 years don't ya think?

First game for the Imps 1975, compared to 1978 watching City - you'll forgive me if I spend my hard earned on the latter where I'll get value for money? Napoli was fantastic on Weds, roll on Bayern at the end of the month as havn't been there since England won 5-1 when your beloved Cods were top of the 2nd tier I believe
