Wooton Bassett is the model for all towns and cities across the UK. It's televised for a varity of reasons, the main one is that it's a chance to speak about those who had paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country. You find out that the serviceman came from _________, he has brothers, sisters, kids etc and went to ________ school or __________ University and was a fan of ________. In Canada, servicemen killed in combat operations get special mentions in the news and some of the things above are listed.

As a serviceman who has served in Afghanistan and Iraq it is heart rendering to see such actions of respect and compassion by the general public, it renews a sense of purpose when you become disillusioned through poor facilities and equipment to do your job. Knowing that Wooton Bassett will 'stand for a few minutes' to show their respect can not be put into words.

You had the urine taken out of you when you worked in Grimsby and have now found a forum to dispense your vile hatred of the Town regardless of how you get your bite. The sooner you are banned the better Denty.

At first glance nothing I can see warrants anyone being banned. Everyone has different views - we all need to tolerate them. For example (and it's only an example) being a BMP supporter or subscribing to their beliefs is a legitimate point of view, much as I personally disagree with it. Some people deny the holocaust, some people deny global warning, some people deny evolution. They are all talking bollox in my view but that doesn't stop their right to breathe the same air as me or post on the same forums as me. All I can do is to try and persuade them they are wrong, and if that doesn't work try and persuade others that they are wrong.

The German warships had safe passage because the Navy's war ships were either in dock for a long over due service/repairs/re-supplies. The ones left were not up to taking on the Germans on they were there just to patrol and as a show of force. The Germans attacked Scarborough, Hartlepool and Whitby because they didn't have the protection other major ports had.

You have picked out one of the most embarassing low's in the Navy's history to call Grimsby Fisherman traitors. If Grimsby Fisherman were at fault it would be well documented. You are trying to run down a group of men that kept this country going when it was on it's knees, they fought, they shot down enemy planes and they provided the UK with invaluable intelligence from WW1 through to the end of the cold war.

I stay out of your arguements and your bites.  However, my Grandad was a Trawlerman during the War.  Skipper William (Bill) Harwood.  If you want to make this personal with me bring it on.  This post is not written whilst drunk.  I have just completed a night-shift.  I will meet you any time at any place.  We can either joust verbally or physically.  I really don't mind.  If you want to throw sh1t at the people that throw it at you then feel free to do so. That is between you and them.  If they can't handle it they shouldn't be dishing it out.  But when you generalise you target people that you shouldn't be.  i am even going to lift the block I have on your posts just so I don't miss the reply.

Civvy,  he is bitter because Hartlepool was targeted because they had more significant steel works. In fact Scumthorpe benefited from the German attack is ironic to say the least. It's not the first time he has made unfounded cheap remarks about the town or it's people. This just goes to show you how bitter he is for all the urine taking he suffered at Novartis to come out with a claim of treason.

My Grandfather was a trawlerman and served on a Navy gunship during the wars protecting these waters. He recieved commendations for his acts of dedication to duty, selfless acts and rarely took shore leave, that was to ensure that his taskings were carried out to the highest standards.

We lost a fair few trawlers to submarines and german ships, we lost a lot of brave souls defending this country.

There is no proof because it didn't happen, I doubt fans64 would withdraw this unsubstantiated claim and that just goes to show how pathetic he is. According to my source who knows him, he has always been dispised because he is one of life's male masturbators, you know the girl private no one likes because they are a girl private. He is even disliked on his own forum yet he comes on here to wind us up yet puts jokes on the jokes in bad taste thread.

He comes from a town that has sacrificed very little to this country, he comes from a town that benefited from another being attacked.
