Don't recall this being discussed at the fans forum, but the Trust page of yesterday's programme tells us that the break even crowd figure for this season is 8000 per game.
In the league we've managed this (just ) against Doncaster and Bradford, and looking ahead, suppose we might again vs Mansfield. 3 of 23 ain't great!
Perhaps ticket sales/attendances is more of an issue than we realise. Though it would be interesting to know an attendance figure including how many season ticket holders do/don't attend...
And perhaps there's good reason, financially, to hope that Notts County and Wrexham, even Scunny in future, get back into league 2.
Btw lowest league home attendances this season seem to be Gillingham, 5960, and Tranmere 5134.

I reckon, given our home league form, an average of 6500 is pretty impressive.

Take your point, but if the break even is 8k, it's just as well that we are having this cup run. I just looked at we got a gate of 8418 vs forest, and have had 3 home ties in the fa cup: Plymouth, burton and Luton replay. We could have really done with an extra prem tie or say Sheffield united of the teams left in the cup!

Wow! That break even point is quite scary, and maybe goes a long way to explain why we struggle to compete in the transfer market. I thought the crowds we are getting would be more than adequate, but it appears not. Quite scary really.

By my maths we pretty much broke even yesterday.
Capacity 9,000. Away end 1,250. Balance 7,750 home seats.
There were 50 seats available to buy at 1pm yesterday so it was pretty much a break even game by my maths.
That only 6,400 people turned up is irrelevant, 7,700 home seats were accounted for.

Another factor is sizes of away support: Salford brought 102 compared to 1309 we took there Crawley brought 47 Sutton brought 105 Gillingham brought 125, but midweek Carlisle brought 144, but midweek Stevenage brought 128.
Some of those as bad as non league.

I wonder if that’s break even for match day costs rather than the overall club accounts? Breakeven moves a bit as well depending on the cost base for the event, e.g. putting on the Donny game would arguably be more expensive as you’d need more stewards and the odd copper or two in the ground. Seems odd for the Trust to be source of this rather than the club.

I must have dreamt it, I thought the chairman did mention the 8,000 figure🤔

If we need 8000 to break even, how do clubs who regularly get 3000 gates pay bigger wages than us? And when have we ever averaged 8000?!! Historically we are a 4000-5000 sized club, and if we don’t start winning soon and finish the season strongly, we can almost guarantee lower crowds next season. What are the club and the trust trying to tell us? And if we make a loss when we average 6500, where’s the £6m coming from for the new training ground?

I can’t believe we need 8k gates to break even ? We’ve never hit those numbers in years which obviously Jason and Andrew will be well aware of
