I seem to remember a low Bentley scale score is a likely outcome, a high Bentley score indicates the increased level of bo.llocks .

Nope, contract he has been offered by town is male masturbation and with Pompey sniffing around town will need to up offer dramatically if they are to retain him. Far too often the club abuses local loyalty whilst paying over the odds for has beens.
I might have agreed with you until May of last year, but since 1878 took over we have a totally different club in stature and culture. As long as his wages match or nearly match other wages offered I think Harry will stay. He's been brought up as a mariner, knows how the club has changed this year and most of all I'm sure he loves the supporters. I don't think he'll turn down playing every home game in front of a virtually full house this coming season

You know Fenty isn’t here anymore… In truth though, can you provide a list of ‘local lads’ that have been let go and abused for their loyalty because I’m struggling to be honest…being local doesn’t give them a free ticket…

Add to that local lads who are actually good enough.

Some stats for the Ben Fox lovers the consider…
He started 22 leagues games for us…
Won 10 Drew 1 Lost 11 Points 31 PPG 1.41 = 62 points over the season = 2nd
The 22 league games he didn’t start…
Won 13 Drew 7 Lost 2 Points 46 PPG 2.09 = 92 points over the season = 12th
I’m not saying he’s not a good player, but the facts don’t lie. We were a better and more successful side without him in the starting XI through out the season.
He stepped up in the playoffs and was very good, but if he leaves he’s no great loss and I’d predict he will struggle to cement a first team places anywhere else based on the fact he didn’t properly nail down a first team place at Town.

The grass isn’t always (forest) greener on the other side
As others have said. HC knows the area well. Has friends and family here. Am presuming a home too.
It’d be a case of uprooting everything to take a chance at a club in a more expensive area. Playing in front of far far significantly lower home crowds. But, it is in a league above which could put him in the spotlight for moves further up the league. That’s IF he plays of course.

He started several of the losing matches playing the McAtee role when he was injured/suspended so you could, arguably, blame the manager for that. In addition, you could also quite easily say he was our best midfielder in all of the playoff games and we probably wouldn’t have got promoted without him. As far as his agent is concerned, he’s got an out of contract, young player on his hands with a promotion on his CV and a Man of The Match trophy to boot.

26 starts this season (22 league, 1 FAC & 3 play-offs) and 10 substitute appearances and only 1 goal. You’d hope a quality midfielder would chip in with a few more goals than that wouldn’t you? Compare that to Holohan scoring 3 in his 12 appearances after joining us. If Fox goes Hurst will find someone who will contribute more and with better consistency.

Keane and Vieira were 1 in 10 men. Kante 1 in 16. Fox shares more traits with the mighty Fernando Redondo who was a 1 in 41 man at Real Madrid, with similar ungainly grace, hunched gait and a scraped back ponytail like a Nunsthorpe DIY facelift.

As has been said already, we shouldn’t begrudge Fox a move given his and our circumstances. He was brought in to do a job, he did it and in a way none of us could have ever dreamed we’d do better, so fair play to the lad - massive thanks & well done.
But would also agree with Golly in the sense that I’d trust Hurst to bring in a decent replacement for him. Not to do Fox down at all, but the Fox that came into the squad after Barnet was completely different to the one we saw in the first part of the season for my money. I think he struggled to work out his role in the first few months as Hunt liked sitting low, receiving and moving it quickly, whereas Coke and Clifton did much of the breaking up. It’s like they were all stepping on each other’s toes at times and Fox was almost a third wheel in a system they hadn’t quite clicked.
Like others have said, he’s also been played here, there & everywhere at times and, luckily for us, only really seemed settled and comfortable in the last few months.
He’s a young player, not from the area, with a history of career threatening injuries. Would rather see him leave us on a high than end up like Liam Hearn or Max Wright and never fulfil his potential. I imagine Hurst wants it settling sooner rather than later though, he’s not one for drawn-out transfer sagas (as we saw in 15/16) - either sign up or move on, no messing about.
