I would offer varying contracts to all of the above. I would also be very disappointed if any of them (assuming we offer them a reasonable contract) left us to join a League Two rival or a top 5 conference side.

I also suspect that McAtee would never leave this club for any team lower than the Championship. Again, assuming we don’t take the pizz on his contract offer, he needs to be one of the top 3 earners at the club on a 4 year contract with immediate effect. The boy will be a GTFC Legend for a century if he’s still here in 2 more seasons when he’s just hit 37 goals to take us back up to the Championship 😃😃⚽️ UTM

Summary

This might be a bit brutal for some, but Hurst was ruthless last time and I expect him to be equally realistic this time too.

That would leave a squad of 16 including Battersby & 4 1st Year Pros. Which would mean Hurst would need to bring in around 11 new signings giving us a squad of 27- 22 + Battersby & 1st year pros who might be loaned out to gain experience.

Why would we want to sign Ryan Bennett? He’s been a top class player but I’d much rather have Waterfall and Smith.

Baffling, this is a player who has literally spent the last decade in the top two flights and he's only 32. A similar career to Dany Collins who was older when we signed him. He'd be a top top signing for league 2 if it happened.
