Steve Kabba was brilliant

Andy todd for me, alongside Grovesy, best player I've seen in a town shirt

Really pleased for Smith, another that without him, we'd have never been promoted

Not quite for me if you’re talking best loans ever, although he was excellent, so would deserve his place if you’re talking relatively recent loans.

Which begs the question who would you have down as the best ever (if it’s not Smith) ?

Dave Beasant and Andy Todd jump out at me without thinking about it too much.

Not the best player we've had on loan, I agree, but one of the best loans we've had in terms of length and impact.

The block he did at Wrexham for Waterfall to score, and the interception in the final to set up the equaliser were fundamental in us getting promoted, not to mention the solid partnership he had with Luke.

Jemson was nowt special. I remember seeing him hit the bar from 6 yards at Oxford with the whole goal gaping.

For me, jemson was perfect. He took away defenders giving super Clive more of a free role.

John Oster's first loan spell was incredible. Carried the team.

Not quite as good in his second but still decent.

They turned to excrement once they were permanent, but Barry Conlan and Peter Sweeney were exceptional and very impactful loans. Very, very honourable mention to Wayne Henderson at the same time too.

Didn’t that coincide with Richard Hughes as well who was so calm. I always think that if we’d have kept Oster and Hughes for the remainder of that season we’d have stayed up and perhaps a lot of what happened very quickly afterwards may not have!

I liked Appleton too if I am thinking of central midfield loans!

On loan. We did try to sign him but he apparently was asking for crazy amounts of money to sign so he ended up at Wimbledon just before they became MK Dons and then Norwich who he ran rings around while playing for us. Apparently later on had treatment for a gambling addiction where he racked up over 200k in debt to bookies, maybe why he was asking for such a high wage.

Yeah fair one - that’s a good way of expressing it, I can definitely get on board with that logic.
It’s amazing how many drop from your memory too, there have been some great shouts!

And the challenge on Hudlin from Solihull in the final.
