Dont think it will be as easy as some seem to think on saturday.. We seem to give a lot of chances away at the back . they only need to sneek one and park the bus and we will have a struggle on our hands with the two missing players. Boy could we do with a vernham  type player  in the squad

Agree with you there Denni - however Charles has done relatively FA since departing for Burton & Bradford?

Not saying that a player like vernham wouldn’t be welcome, but his skills are more suited to a counter attacking style of football and not sure we will be doing much of that against Dover.

We already have a Vernham type player in Macatee, only Macatee is more consistent, fitter and more skillful, would never swap Macatee for Vernham...

He may go three at the back. Bring in Pearson and have two wing backs. Crookes and Clifton could do a job there.

Playing bottom of the league, it wouldn't be a massive risk.

I doubt he'll go with that back three Ginny. If he does go with that way, I think Crookes will make the three up with Revan and Clifton.the wing backs, Fox, Hunt and Coke the midfield three with McAtee playing off Taylor..

Clifton at right back in a four..

Dover's last 3 results of 0-0 and 1-1 draws, and a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bromley suggest that this game won't be the walkover that some fans seem to think it will be.

An early goal would be nice on Saturday.

I completely agree, I am certainly not advocating that vernham is better than macatee, far from it. I would still be happy to have vernham in the squad though

Who's Vernham? Or Macatee, for that matter.

I think they are totally different types of player. Vernam more an out and out winger/dribbler who runs with the ball whereas McAtee is more of a playmaker who is capable of scoring as well as putting the passes through. I'd be happy if we had both of them playing for us! Once he found his feet and his fitness with us, Vernam was a real threat and he'd have fitted in well in our 4-3-3 playing out on the left. Certainly more effective in attack than Clifton or Bapaga who have both played out on that side this season. Not our player, though. Can we clone Sousa and get a left-sided copy of him?

Clifton at right back or wing back. Be an improvement on effete in my opinion anyway.
