Ah well, almost 100 years of wealth and privilege. Can't complain.

100 years ?

If you want to have a pop at someone that has just died at least check out their whole life !

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

“ Prince Philip (Greek: Φίλιππος / Fílippos[3]) of Greece and Denmark was born in Mon Repos on the Greek island of Corfu on 10 June 1921, the only son and fifth and final child of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg.[4] A member of the House of Glücksburg, the ruling house of Denmark, he was a prince of both Greece and Denmark by virtue of his patrilineal descent from George I of Greece and Christian IX of Denmark, and he was from birth in the line of succession to both thrones.”

I think he got to have his cake and eat it during his life.

No it isn’t. Titles mean nothing. Read up on his early life and you will find quite a different story.

I am not particularly royalist but I don’t think that Queen or country could have had a more loyal supporter. The old lad did well and I bet missing out on the 100 will not have bothered him one iota.

Possibly Alf Garnett?

But others are allowed to say how they loved his politically incorrect (aka ‘insensitive’) jokes?

I would say he served this country well, and fulfilled his part of the social contract for those born into such privilege.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

“ Philip's family went to France, where they settled in the Paris suburb of Saint-Cloud in a house lent to them by his wealthy aunt, Princess George of Greece and Denmark.”

“ Philip was first educated at The Elms, an American school in Paris run by Donald MacJannet, who described Philip as a "know it all smarty person, but always remarkably polite".[12] In 1928, he was sent to the United Kingdom to attend Cheam School, living with his maternal grandmother, Victoria Mountbatten, Dowager Marchioness of Milford Haven, at Kensington Palace and his uncle, George Mountbatten, 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven, at Lynden Manor in Bray, Berkshire”

I must’ve missed his stint as a chimney sweep.

Well that’s beyond doubt, he’s dead. Not a great deal bothers him at the moment.

Oddball behaviour pretending you know him or his thoughts though. He’s not your mate...

It'll be interesting to see which 30 people get picked to go to the funeral!
