My 24 hours are up. I am a Royalist, to a degree, and I am sure that the Duke would not have wanted all this media fuss. There is only so much that can be said and done. I for one am fed up with it all and would like some normality back in our news. I am certainly not looking forward to the funeral with what will be back-to-back 24 hours blanket media coverage.
I did have the pleasure of a small conversation with the Duke, some decades ago, and found him to be a nice charming guy. I think I could some him up as someone who did his duty for Queen and country. A person of controversy who tried to help others.
I’m no royalist but I do have respect for some of them including Phillip and the Queen. It’s a shame once again the vile left wing can’t keep there sick and twisted views off social media on the day Phillip passed away. |

Pleased you met him DB. As for myself as you may know by now Iam a massive royalist . Was he perfect no . But he did do some good things notably the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme which helps a lot of youngsters here and abroad . Just yesterday I heard on the radio it was his scheme which got one lad of a life of a crime to help him create his own catering business which is still going strong. |

Democracy only works if the genuine majority vote is accepted. Mass vote rigging is not very democratic.

There is sadly many on there still spewing their hate, here’s a snippet.....“glad your dead you racist old illegitimate” “I feel no issue with laughing about his death” “thank god been waiting for this day” how can you think these people are not sick and twisted? A quick look at their Bio shows it’s the same old usual suspects with Corbynista’s, BLM supporters and the nice socialist types. Vile and disgusting people they give the left a bad name. |

Hate to read that. Are these numptys perfect ?. Doubt it. Iam sure if you look in their closets they have some mistakes you can pull out. Hopefully Twitter and Facebook do something about it and report it to the police. Certainly should give the Duke some respect as he has died. Thankfully they dont represent the views of all on the left and are the sick minority. |

It would have read far better if you had said "a minority" or "a small element". To state the "vile left wing" is a huge generalisation. Quite clearly we are from different political persuasions but you attempt to discredit the BLM movement and Corbynistas (strange term) by cherry picking the views of a few idiots. If you want to pick apart socialism or an anti racist movement do it in a way that doesn't demean yourself. |
