Personally, i think it seems a futile gesture that will only hurt us. But some politicians have suggested it should be banned, and we are not sending any Royals to Russia to represent the nation which is a symbolic gesture.

The Russians are the least of our concerns. I'm more concerned about Muslim child rape gangs but the mainstream media don't seem interested. If Putin ordered the assassination of the spy traitor, there would be much easier ways of doing it than using a nerve agent easily traceable back to Russia. Either that or he's sending a message to turned spys that the motherland will never forget the treachery.
I would side with the Russians, I agree with a lot of their policies, especially regarding immingration. Europe is a hell hole now thanks to liberals and Merkel. The Russians don't mess about with terrorists or dickheads, I've seen that first hand in Moscow. They deal with tramps by beating them to a pulp, lol. Nowt to do with football anyway.

Sport should never have anything to do with politics the players qualified and they deserve the chance to try and win the tournament.I don`t care about Putin in the slightest it`s just a smokescreen to appease the Remainers we will NEVER leave the EU. Democracy is BS.

football and politicts - poles apart
what would a boycott achieve anyway? The world cup is something to look forward to even if we get dumped out early. For some players it is their only chance of appearing on the world stage of football
I bet Italy would swap places

No way we should boycott the World Cup, as has already been said sport and politics should be kept seperate.
Then if we win the World Cup we can stick 2 fingers up at Putin............I don't think Putin will be worried somehow.

I honestly can't even think about the World Cup yet.
The next 7 weeks are far too concering to be able to think about England and the World Cup. This is massive. If England flop again, so what. If Town get relegated again, it will be different to last time i'm sure, could have serious implications, or even be the beginning of the end.

So the Russians have brought chemical warfare to the streets of England & some of you want to do nothing, not sure if you realise that the chemical warfare weapon of Novichok produced just outside Moscow could have killed thousands of our own people, this is the second chemical warfare the Russians have done on English soil, the other one was in Nov 2006 where Litvinenko was hit with radioactive polonium another chemical weapon, the Russians have killed probably another 14 people in England, they have brought chemical warfare to the Streets of England and were going to play in the World cup in front of Putin & those that have sent chemical warfare to our streets, are we mad.

Politics aside I think the fans should boycott the cup.
They will be set on by the Russians but receive no justice or protection from the police,
As far as the team is concern when was the last time the players turned up for the finals ?

Russian money bankrolled Brexit to prevent us being part of the tougher tax regime the EU will adopt in 2019. Russian money bankrolls the Tory Party so we go easy on the dodgy billionaires rattling around London. To suggest there will be anything of note to come out of all this that will hurt Russia/Putin is to ignore why the Roubles head into cosy tennis matches and dinners. Boycotting the World Cup won’t help either, but it was very visionary of the other Home Nations to start their own refusal to go to Russia so early.

I'm sure Putin will be really hurt at the royal family not attending 😂 This was a Country ahead of its time when it got rid it's own Monarchy, maybe executing them was a tad harsh but never mind. Should we pull out the team on our own (don't believe the rest of the EU would back us despite what they say) and look even bigger idiots? Absolutely not... we're only going to be there for the first two weeks anyway.

I reckon that we’ll go but the team will struggle getting through arrivals at the airport and be accused of being spies or something. Fans travelling will almost certainly be set upon by their state-sponsored and trained hooligans. The media will probably struggle to get work permits so the coverage will be from Manchester or London. We might as well boycott it anyway because it’ll be a pointless exercise for the two weeks we’re there.

1970 World Cup, Bobby Moore was arrested and put in jail on a trump up charge of stealing a necklace at a jewel store, Every body knew he was innocent but he was kept in jail for several days, So I would not be surprised what the Russians do to our fans , Don't go guys.

Nerve agent is an extremely nasty way to die, we used to train for hours decontaminating ourselves and equipment. Nerve agent is probably the worst of the chemical weapons developed and you only have to look at the Marsh Arabs Saddam poisoned using this deadly weapon. The worst part is that members of the public could have been exposed to this, fortunately the levels are low enough not to cause harm.
Trained MMA fighters acting as hooligans, someone will unfortunately be killed. We won't win anyway so we have nothing to lose it may be best to sit this one out there's too much going on to risk innocent fans.

Blimey, I didn't do it. I was shocked when it happened but the reaction of the Moscovites on the underground suggested it was nothing out of the usual. They certainly have a different way of doing things, we are far too tolerant of all sort of low lifes here. Anyone see the thief today who's been at court with 150 previous offences and given another chance by the moronic judge? Them Russians would have dealt with this scumbag very differently and a long time ago. We are too soft, maybe they are too hard, I don't know. But I do know I'm sick of them anus tramps in Town and down St Peters Ave. Especially the scumbags outside Steels, not good for business having heroin addled losers pitched up outside your business. Hopefully a big wave will drag them into the sea where they can dwell with winkles and bottom feeding cod for eternity.

Would have been better for all concerned - with hindsight, admittedly - if we'd boycotted the last seven or so World Cups. Spare us the embarrassment of watching our national team trying to compete at top international level.... So yeah, I'd vote for the boycott. What have we got to lose? "Gareth Southgate masterminds England World Cup victory" headlines? Well, think about it....

I am certain that English fans will lose their lives and I hope as many as possible are dissuaded from travelling.
As for the team I would rather they did not go both from their security as well as a boycott / protest point of view but it would be a total waste of time unless other European teams also boycott the competition, which of course they won't do. As many have said the only good thing is that we won't be there very long

If there was firm evidence then boycotting the World Cup is the least we should do. Sport and politics do mix wether you like it or not. Governments of all types use it to improve the image of themselves and their countries (including the UK) and to prove that their country/system is better.
But until it's proven we shouldn't take any sanctions.

Not quite correct. What we do is go to them and just play in the group stages to remind the other nations how the game we invented should be played, then we leave them to get on with it as best they can without us. They will eventually get as good as us if they keep trying hard.

This is my greatest fear there is so much hatred being drummed into the Russians about us. This as recently been ramped up with accusations and deportation of diplomats on both sides next step will be embassy shutdowns. This ain't going away anytime soon the Russians have already forced our Euro fighters to scramble on numerous occasions to repel invasion threats of our airspace. Would not be surprised if the government issue a warning to all nationals to avoid this cup as their safety can not be assured. Ultimately can see us being pulled out for that reason.

Managed to get semi final tickets in St. Petersburg, flights and hotel already booked to Helsinki and looks like we'll get the train from there.
The plan is to stay well clear of the booze bar the odd sociable pint and obviously no colours or anything.
I can assure you quite a few of my family members/significant others are concerned but how often do you get the opportunity to go to the semi final of a world cup ?
