Roadside parking on Grimsby Road is to be limited to 2hrs. The objective behind this is to stop roadside advertising of cars for sale.

It appears that GTFC were considered but the councillor believes that most fans park in side streets and will not be affected. He obviously has never travelled to the game by car (if at all), as my experience is that fans park whereever there is a space and as 2hrs is not long enough, the side streets will be chaos while Grimsby Road remains relatively empty.

Most properties along there are terrace so residents with cars will also need to find alternative spaces in the side streets.

This would have been easily resolved, for the fans at least, by making it 3hrs.

This could also put some potential fans off going to the game.

I can't believe that this has been approved, is it April 1st?

I agree...... I always have parked my car along Grimsby Road and usually arrive  between 2 - 2.30pm. I will now be facing a parking ticket .

like you mentioned, why not make it 3 hours.

Park car at 2:55pm, get back to it at 4:55pm. Job done. If that is too tighter period then just bloody park in one of the side streets. It's easy enough to find somewhere to park less than 10 minutes walk away from Blundell Park.

I thought it was 2 hours anyway   Getting parked on the side streets isn't really a hassle while the crowds are below 5k

If you park at 2:55 and have a 10 minute walk, you miss Town's first goal.

It is easy (ish) to find a space in a side street now but it won't be when everyone has to do it.

I drive up with a friend of mine from the West Midlands so really don't know Grimsby very well but we always park on one of the side roads connecting to the Grimsby Road - so I guess we'll be ok!
