Not really because I said he's a good utility player i.e he can play in several positions and be effective so he'd be good to have at a tournament where injuries and suspensions can reduce your options. Another reason I'd take Sturridge over Defoe as well.

so is Sturridges 13 goals in 45 better than Defoes 11 in 25?  No

He can play out wide in a 4-3-3 though and has contributed may assists. I just think Sturridge is a better option than Defoe.
