Save it down as a jpeg or a png, then reupload. Though a photograph of our former prime minister on his way to explain, in great detail, how he blundered a couple of hundred thousand Brits into an early grave whilst simultaneously destroying the economy, sporting a Grimsby Town bobble hat, is not quite the mood lift I was looking for this bleak and miserable Thursday morning.

Given Town fan's reputation for a urine up he probably thought it was appropriate given it was a covid enquiry

I’m trying to get some work done and keep being interrupted by people messaging me, many of whom I haven’t heard from in years, with photos of this clown twât in a Town hat.

My phone hasn’t been this hot since I accidentally sent that dïck pic to my mum.

How about previous elections? I'm not touting for the Conservative Party but in the 78 years since the end of WW2 , they have been in power for48 years as opposed to 30 years for a Labour Party. Thus would indicate that the voting population of the UK ( under our voting system) is right of centre. I personally think we're do need a change of direction but sadly the Labour Party has gone from representing the Working Class to speaking for the Shirking Class and an unsustainable level of immigration.

Another thread that needs fukin off off to non football.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Yup. We've been well below replacement levels since the early to mid 1970s. The boomers complaining about immigration really are deluded, though you probably can't blame most of them as most seem to get their (dis)information from the likes of the Daily Heil, Torygraph and Express...

What about the thousands of Europeans who copulated off home after Brexit? The nurses, the carers, the hospitality staff and the land workers who no longer felt welcome and left huge swathes of vacancies. Now we’re out of the reaches of the Dublin treaty, it’s free reign for all the non EU citizens to take unchecked advantage and they don’t have the skills to replace the workers we lost.

Wow. Maybe i should have refrained from starting this thread. Just thought it was funny that an ex prime minister who is so immediately recognisable and so not northern, would be sporting a Grimsby Town hat. No other motive just other than odd to say the least. We are hardly, or so i thought, so " on trend ". Maybe we are?. Not gonna get drawn into what shoulda, coulda, woulda have happened with Covid other than to offer just one observation. Every single person that i know, at some stage deliberately broke/bent Covid rules to suit what they at the time thought they had to do to get by. Every one. Even the ones who largely complied with most rules, broke them on occasions. By and large, the politicians did the same. Its just the newspapers were not after stories about us, we were not going to make the front page holding a BBQ in our back yards. Boris used to be such a well liked guy by the British Public. Guess he aint any more.

I've no idea why anybody might 'like' this feckless waster who has spent his life telling lies about pretty much everything as long as it benefits him, but each to their own. His flipping name isn't even Boris - his siblings call him 'Al'. Johnson shouldn't have got anywhere near the levers of power and his pathetic excuse of a response as Covid emerged led to tens of thousands of needless deaths. Because he was lazy and disinterested. Nothing more, nothing less. He failed at his job, because he was lazy and, this time, his lies had serious consequences. He's now lying to avoid facing the consequences having 'lost' his WhatsApp messages in the same way that our current 'tech bro' PM has somehow 'lost' his WhatsApp messages. Does anybody really believe this is true?

The Partygate stuff is something less important, just a general reflection of how excrement the Tories have been since 2019. It's embarrassing and pathetic, but not a patch on the mishandling of the rest of the pandemic. We could all see the catastrophe emerging in Northern Italy yet the government did nothing until it was way, way too late. Led to more deaths, longer lockdowns, more critical sickness (including Long Covid), crushed the NHS even further etc etc. The fornicators should be punished for their criminal negligence.

Yup. We've been well below replacement levels since the early to mid 1970s. The boomers complaining about immigration really are deluded, though you probably can't blame most of them as most seem to get their (dis)information from the likes of the Daily Heil, Torygraph and Express...

The boomers who:

Bought their houses when they were plentiful and cheap relative to wages.
Benefitted from Labour’s post war ‘contract with the people’ national renewal programme but who vote Tory
Who have caches of savings and investments, range rovers, superb pensions, private health but want the ladder pulling up
Screwed the young because they voted brexit and now hate foreigners and love Suella.
I know and see loads and loads of them.

What do you want - " The birth pill being substituted for the pensioners extermination pill ?"  In most countries old people are looked after by their families and even then receive larger pensions. At the moment immigrants receive a sight more benefits than pensioners in THIS country. What we need are the people WE NEED.

Are you thinking immigrants or illegal immigrants. Surely we have a choice of what legal immigrants we allow into this country. As for the illegals they should be behind barbed wire instead of hotels. Both main parties are as bad as each other on this matter as far as I am concerned and very much doubt if either will get my vote - and as for the Lib Dems------------

There’s going for two dog walks in a day or whatever and there’s meeting for a barbecue though isn’t there? Very easy to get away with covid breaches in backwaters like Gainsborough as well. They were literally making the rules which most people did follow and partying in the building the rules were coming from at the same time!

He was popular with absolute morons (I do not apoligise for this) who think his well spoken voice and bumbling demeanour were funny. He was wearing a Town hat to go in and out of the inquiry so that people didn’t talk about the fact he was there accused of gross negligence. People have been distracted by it (5live mentioned it maybe half a dozen times yesterday; the Independent, Mail and Guardian ran stories on it) and the same morons who put him in power are lapping it up.

Will you be able to manage on the old age pension or will you have to rely on private means. I don't think the situations you quote above apply to the average pensioner  ( PS  learn to spell   )

It's worth remembering that anyone can seek asylum - that doesn't make them illegal immigrants. Getting on a dinghy is not illegal, it's a desperate attempt to find a better life. Labour plan to put in asylum assessment facilities in France which is what any sane government would do. Instead the Tories fill people's heads with vitriol and bile. And you know what's worse, many of their parents wouldn't have got here under their rules.

Bear in mind that the old age pension isn't paid out of money you have 'saved' by paying National Insurance. N.I. is just just a tax by any other name and has never been 'saved' for the future.

The state actually creates the money out of nothing to fund the pension (bonds are also sold to help 'balance the books'), but they need workers to keep the economy going to make it possible to fund them. The OAPs railing against these immigrants who we desperately need in our economy are actually complaining about the people who are going to help keep them clothed and fed, figuratively, as well as often literally.

People are tarring all immigrants and illegal immigrants with the same brush. Those that have landed here and disappeared are illegal. If they get caught they are deported, anyone employing them are very heavily fined.
The other ones that get here are asylum seekers. They are held in accommodation until their case into if they stay or not in heared. If they are allowed to stay they are expected to get jobs and buy houses etc. They are not given houses as the far right will have you believe.
Because of austerity we don't have the means to process their claims so they end up waiting years for their cases to be heared. This is what is causing the huge backlog and having to find somewhere to put them.
It's the stupidity of this government that has caused this massive problem in the first place.

As I say above, a sensible government would have spent £140 million on a proper assessment system. This government would rather give it to Rwanda and fill you full of xenophobic propaganda.

We have to give them an unlimited number of visas to live here, the number of asylum seekers we send them is, wait for it,  200 a year! Yes two hundred a year.

This is a load of nonsense isn't it? Illegal immigrants can't claim anything because, and the clue is in the name, they're an illegal immigrant. Seeking asylum is not illegal and if the Tories hadn't decimated the public services and civil service their applications would be processed far quicker. That would have a two-fold positive effect. Firstly, we wouldn't spend so long and so much money having to care for these people from desperate situations before they can start living properly and secondly we could get them working and contributing to society as well as paying tax. Unfortunately it's much easier for the government and their buddies in the right wing press to make the stupid in society hate and denigrate these people (the vast majority of whom have never and will never do anything wrong) rather than admit they've destroyed the system that was in place.

As for bemoaning the pensions in this country, you do a lot better on a pension than you do working in the public sector which has seen a real terms massive wage drop since the Tories took charge. Even now, they ensure that pensions go up in line with inflation and leave the people in work to suffer with either wage freezes or insultingly low increases that are far below inflation. They do this in order to keep the votes of all the older people who are stupid enough to keep them in power. It's laughable really, in 2020 27% of the population that were over 65 years lived in households with wealth exceeding £1million. That number had more than tripled from 10 years earlier as the boomers started retiring. So they don't all need that bump in income above inflation but they'll take it anyway and leave the nurses to have to keep using food banks. But like I said previously, they're the most selfish generation to have ever lived.

People aren't interested in the details, just buying into the concept of 'sending them to Rwanda'. It's nothing more than a gimmick and a very expensive gimmick, so expensive that it appears that the cost has been lied about by government. People's fantasies of seeing all the immigrants, whether legal or illegal rounded up and put on flights is just hokum. Obviously the more reasonable and cost effective route would be to process their applications in a timely manner.

President Kagame will be happy for the hundreds of millions of quid we've given them for doing nothing. It will help him with his next re-election campaign as he only 'won' 98.8% of the vote last time around.

I'll be Braverman is just disappointed that she couldn't get Kim Jong Un to answer the phone. You can almost imagine this bunch of shysters arguing that North Korea is a 'safe country' to ship out migrants to...

But how many over 65 households in Richmond, Twickenham and Wimbledon? Most of that wealth is passed on tax free, all of it with careful tax planning. But if you need social care in Lincolnshire forget about it unless you pay through the nose for it from modest household wealth. You can’t even get district nurse visits as an 88 year old after coming out of hospital now. I speak from family experience. Many people in the 50s are doing the job of social care because an ageing parent can’t pay. The Tories go on about reducing immigration and increasing workforce productivity growth and workforce participation instead when they have overseen the dismantling access to primary care and social care.

NHS is absolutely on its knees as well as social care. I'm currently waiting for a telephone consultation with a specialist - my last one (telephone consultation as well) was almost 4 months ago, when I had almost no symptoms. I had an MRI and other tests over two months ago since when, things have got progressively worse. NHS website says, 'You should see a specialist within 2 weeks of being referred'. I waited 4 weeks for the first phone call, 6 weeks for the tests and now another 9 weeks until the second consultation! I despised these flipping Tories on behalf of other people who were suffering so much under them and I can tell you, being on the other end of things doesn't make me like them any more.

Absolute vermin.

"Stop the Boats" is this years "Get Brexit Done" and they are hanging their hat on that slogan, hoping the same xenophobic, racist simpletons fall for it and vote the fookers back in again.

Only this time it won't work, because enough people have finally cottoned on to the fact that after 13 years in power, the Tories have just about destroyed anything of any value and picked over the bones until there is nothing left for them to pocket.

Sunak is a pathetic busted flush, voted in by a tiny minority of the Tory Party faithful. As bad as Boris was, at least he fought and won an election. Lied like fook to achieve it mind.

Get your heads out of your ar$es people. Asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants. They don't get phones, cars, houses, or even money to spend. They get stuck in terrible accommodation and are given food vouchers. They are mostly desperate people looking for the milk of human kindness and they get the fooking Tories. The most heartless, gutless bunch you could imagine, and a surprising amount of them are second generation immigrants themselves.

I feel ashamed for my country at the way this government conducts itself.

The tories are in total chaos and are desperately trying to stoke the fears and anger of people who don't know any better.

They don't want to talk about the cost of living and the NHS. Anyone who votes Tory at the next election is flipping brain dead.

I had rang an ambulance for a 15 year old girl recently, she'd dislocated her knee and it was facing the wrong way. She was screaming in pain. They couldn't send an ambulance as it wasn't life threatening. We had get her down 3 floors,  wheel her down the road in a borrowed wheelchair and into a black taxi. She was screaming in pain all the way.
That is the reality of Tory Britain.

What a load of bollo'x.   How many households in Grimsby exceed £1million you cantankerous bigot

Except it isn’t is it? It’s backed up by statistics from official sources. Unlike the absolute guff you regurgitate from whatever right wing toilet you get your opinions from.

You exemplify the sort of thick, bigoted generally older idiots within the population who have repeatedly responded to dog whistle tactics by the Tories allowing them to keep power for so long.

Although I broadly agree with most things you say, and that the state pension is being increased by percentages that other people in society can only look on with envy: the actual starting point of the pension is pathetically low in the first place. The current full state pension, which not everyone gets, is a paltry £203.85 per week and big percentage rises don't have a massive impact on a low starting point.

Nobody living on that, and there are plenty, is having a whale of a time and living large.

It is estimated to rise next April to £221.00 per week and will be getting precariously close to the tax threshold. I'm due to get mine in 2025 and I don't expect to be living a millionaires lifestyle. It's pathetically small compared to other western European countries.

I'm lucky in that I bought my house when they were relatively cheap to buy, but unless I sell it and live off the proceeds, the value in the property is irrelevant. I have to live somewhere, so I either downsize to a small flat and have a few bob in the bank, or I rent and see the proceeds dwindle rapidly.

I'm a boomer, but I'm not swimming in cash.

Either way, I wouldn't vote Tory at gunpoint.

I think you can trust the current Labour bunch to keep their promises. Unfortunately, they are promising to be a bit like the Tories, but not quite as bad and do it in a nicer manner.

We're doomed!

The government reverted to creating problems and then saying they’re the only ones that can be trusted to fix them.

Immigration a problem? - after Brexit the visas given out by this government has led to quadruple the amount of people coming in - but apparently only the Tories can be trusted because they’ll “stop the boats” - even though the boats account for around 50k of the 750k that came in this year.  Oh and their grand plan is to send 200 people a year to Rwanda for 240 million - intercourse off

Inflation a problem? - it’s halved but is still not below the levels before Liz Truss’ abomination, so they’ve not even rectified their intercourse up.

NHS on its knees? - we’ll hire more doctors & nurses (honest) - locally it’ll take 5/10 years to train them but in the mean time we’ll block foreign doctors families from coming over to make us way less attractive.

They’re not just a badly motivated government but they’re also bloody stupid if they think they’re solving any of the problems they created.

Absolutely correct.

It’s dog whistle propaganda politics that, unfortunately, too many are prepared to swallow. The day they’re kicked out can’t come soon enough.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Sounds like someone who’s against immigrants but can’t offer a factual reason as to why. The only group of people I’m bigoted against are those who are obstinate and thick but if the cap fits…

It’s part of the Tom Hardy franchise in which you see his character downtrodden and knackered after years of destruction. He’s overweight, perpetually angry and lacks any critical thought.

He spends his time sat in an arm chair thumbing his way through right wing websites and the daily mail. He can’t work out why he’s so miserable and needs anyone to blame but himself.

He settles on blaming immigrants, Jeremy Corbyn and that woke Spider-Man fella and hatches an evil plan to devour them and dethrone the anti growth coalition.
