Israel not being aware of anything happening imminently with regards the attack is very odd given the amount they spend on military and intelligence. It’s maybe even bordering on suspicious.

Palestinians are treated like shite-on-a-stick by the Iranians to conduct a proxy war against Israel, and just treated like shite by the Israelis.

If you think about our conflict in N Ireland the circle of violence was broken by the external powers - UK, US and Ireland brokering the peace and young people in the province rejecting the violence. It doesn’t suit Iran for there to be a peaceful settlement nor does it suit Netanyahu who is stoking the fanatics in Israel to stay in power. Israel then points to its Sunni allies, who are also US allies, to support a claim of not being anti-Arab.

I see no prospect of anything like the NI rapprochement with the current regimes in Israel and Iran.
