Very disappointed to lose him, like others have said if he had gone on to a League One side then I would have accepted it better, but despite a contrast in recent fortunes between us and them, to lose him to essentially what is a smaller club in the same League and a potential rival its deflating news.

I would imagine they've got more financial clout currently, and with him being a Burton lad it's a move back to his the region he's from, but you would have liked and hoped that what he's achieved with us, being part of this team is something he'd want to help build.

Disappointed with his decision, but this is football, not going to be a bitter male private about it so best of luck for the future Ben.

I only thought he was brilliant in the playoffs . He was steady during the season . We can get better

He upped his game for 3 TV games but was mostly poor to average before that. Disappointed to lose him becsuse the play off games showed the level he can play at and he goes with my thanks. He'll obviously get abuse off the mongs on his return though.

Not surprised at him leaving but I am that it's to a league 2 club. As has been said he was probably our best paid player and although I thought it was harsh Hurst wasn't playing him from the start week in week out ( he would have been in my first 11). Perhaps rather than it being a blown away offer Hurst just doesn't feel he is worth as much as Northampton do.

Regardless, absolutely the best of luck to Ben, a chunk of that joy we've all been feeling for weeks now has been down to his 3 monumental playoff performances. Will always get a good reception from me.

Not disputing that then, I don't know, but it really surprises me with him coming from league 1 and being a player who when signed appeared to be 'above' the national league from his pedigree.
