Same person who told me the 7.5K figure is the bloke who’s told me about the contract renewals and then last week that Fox would be leaving us.

Fox wanted to stay, his agent got involed, got him a much better deal elsewhere

I think 7.5K a week is obscene, and i questioned the figure as in “ are you sure thats right”. But he’s confirmed thats the case. No way on earth should town be matching that for any player

Interesting. Any word on any others re-signing?

I hope you meant to put month,  not week ?    £7.5 K a week would be approx.  20% of our season ticket revenue.

To be fair, I imagine if it was £7.5k a month, we would have certainly matched that

End of the day if they've offered him anything like what is suggested the lad would be an idiot to turn it down.

Huge for us when it mattered last season but Golly is right, even if he's on a wind-up with the stats point, there was large parts of the season where he wasn't nearly as effective.   More importantly Hurst will have many more irons in the fire.

Always important to remember when we lose a good player the case of Carl Magnay.   A player many thought we simply would never be able to replace.  Enter: Richard Tait.

There's always someone better out there.

Good luck to him, so everyone now moves on.

Get Clifton sorted and wide player or too then H can go in the middle with Holohan, job done!!

Tait was a downgrade on Magnay. Do you want some stats to prove that?

Clifton in the middle isn't going to happen whilst we have McAtee.

He wasn't even in the top 10 of our best paid players.

on this one i think you're very wrong. Up there in the top 3 or 5 is what I've heard. And coming down from League suggests he'd be on a good wedge

btw i find your stats v. interesting, and i agree that under 1878 we are deffo going to become more stats orientated. Combine that with Hurst's knowledge and ability to spot  a player, we've surely got the near perfect combination?

1) He was at Burton Albion.

2) He was on Max Wright/Harry Clifton money at Burton.

Players on more basic wage than Fox last season:-
McKeown, Waterfall, Pearson, Coke, Scannell, McAtee, Taylor, Danny "f***ing" Rose, Grant & John-Lewis. And Holohan & Maguire-Drew got brought in on more a week during the season.
