Clearly patted the ball down with his hand and amazed that the ref allowed the goal but having seen it back it looked as if the ref may have had some chunk of a Port Vale player between him and the incident.

I was amazed at the lack of reaction from some of the Port Vale players but I got the impression they were not that bothered whether they won or lost, just wondered if they are playing to get Micky Adams the sack.

The ball bounced up onto his hand and back down to his feet. Clearly, there is no intent at all so the laws say that it wasn't a handball.

Of course, in the real world, most referees would have given it as a handball whether it was intentional or not.

Looked a clear handball to me but overall I thought the referee was very good. Generally he let the players get on with it, wasnt over fussy and let it flow.

I thought the ref, let them away with a lot of fouls such as jumping into players and high feet, gave them numerous free kicks which they played for. That said Vale seemed to be very canny, for instance bringing Makofo down just outside our box by their defender to break up the counter attack and being caught out of position. Serge intentionally used his hand by his side to pat the ball past the defenders I was sat right in front of it both times, ergo the pontoon breaking into song "Are we playing basketball".

I didn't see a deliberate handball.

But then again I was 120 miles away watching House on tv.

By the laws of the game it wasn't handball as the ref didn't penalise Makofo n the goal stood, so Serges Meadowlark skills paid dividend! Watch us moan like hell the first time it happens agin us!

Remember conlon pen against Aldershot a couple of years ago, he handled it, claimed the pen, scored the winner from it five mins from time.
