Well that was deflating. Both teams very poor, really was after the Lord Mayors Show. Colchester were big, Physical, Limited, and a goalmouth scramble aside, controlled us pretty easily.
It was a game which was so stop start, ball in the air, ball out of play, them slowing it down, not helped by a strange referee but not blaming him at all.
0-0 was fair but crocombe came out for a ball got nowhere near it and Hopper ( of course) scored.
Frustraing no doubt after 2 good wins and now 2 tough away games back to back, Crowd flat today, but nothing for us to get behind. Hunt very very poor, can see why he hasnt been playing too much, set piece delivery and passing has nosedived

They were bigger and stronger than us, scored a scrappy goal and held onto the lead.
We did change things and tried to keep the ball on the floor but still wasn’t good enough, especially being 1-0 down. One of them games you move on from and concentrate on the next.

Watching Town this season makes me question if I even like football. The home games bore the life out of me

98 minutes of dreck, masquerading as a game of football, played by massive blokes the size of rugby players and reffed by a moron.
Almost fell asleep first half and am getting p1ssed off with our poor showing at home this season.

Well I got the match as the weather was ok, just, You summed everything up perfectly., apart from strange decisions from the ref and the 2nd official on the main stand side. On a positive note the Guinness was good as was the pies in the Trust Bar.

Broadly agree apart from Hunt can’t hurt anyone if we don’t give him the ball and make runs for him. I think the midfield as a whole struggled to get a foothold, especially in the 1st half where it looked like a game of head tennis. We certainly didn’t seem to compete physically. On to Gillingham where I’d expect us to come away with something as this squad will know they can and will do better. A word for the ref ….. and that word is sh1t, if that’s league 2 level then the professional game has a bigger problem than anticipated.

What a shocker that was. No movement, dreadful passing and lost out on virtually every second ball To be fair thought Colchester were much better than us today, ran the channels well and just quicker to the ball Akinde is a master of shithousery and has clearly been running training workshops for his team mates Special mention to the referee who made some very strange decisions this afternoon

Groundhog Day, reminiscent of so many games at BP this season. We missed the chance we had, we won very few second balls, we hoofed so much possession away and we lacked any quality when we did get the ball.
Crowd very flat too. All in all, very disappointing.

One of those games which makes you wonder how most of the players managed to become professional footballers, given that they don't apparently have any idea how to play the game.
The defence were mostly competent, but pretty much everyone else was poor. Crocombe's kicking was absolutely all over the place and, of course, the goal was his fault as well.
Orsi improved things briefly at half time, but those final three subs made us much, much worse (to be fair Wearne showed a couple of decent touches).
It will be interesting to hear what Hurst has to say a out that particular shambles of a performance.
Oh, the worst referee I've seen for some time. Absolutely clueless and didn't even notice that they kept kicking the ball away to waste time - he eventually booked their keeper who wasn't to blame!

There was an amber warning for a crap performance immediately following the other night and the forecast was correct. Games like today are why we needed a target man in January cause Colchester were physical and we couldn’t match them up front.
Put it behind us and get a result on Tuesday.
