Strange game but we undoubtedly deserved the point for a battling performance.
Although I was unimpressed with Stevenage, I thought they looked more likely of the two sides to score, probably because our quality in the final third was poor. I thought it was Amos not Efete who was at fault for the goal for letting their guy get the ball in so easily.
After last season's penalty woes, I can't work out how Mcatee got the ball and sure enough it was awful. I know we haven't had one all season but we must have a designated penno specialist?
Finally, a word for the referee .......to$$er

Woz, how the fook after today's game have you singled Efete out? Fooking disturbing witch hunt this is..

No witch hunt - an opinion from a season ticket holder who thinks he has been defensively poor all season so far and his passing, crossing from an attacking point has also been poor.

Even his 5 yard balls were too short today and caused others to have to dive in or lost possession.

Funny how supporters see games and players differently as I would say, other than his dodgy bad pass which cost us a goal, I think his defensive performances are fine. However, going forward he does at times appear to lack confidence and he looks like he is in two minds as to what to do with the ball hence his delay in crossing it early on and then fluffing his pass to McAtee. He is certainly not helped by the immediate crowd reaction which is very negative towards him.

As for the game think we more than deserved a draw but agree with Crofty’s pre-match comments that Hursty appears to be struggling to determine his best eleven and formation. Judging by Maher’s comfort on the ball today wouldn’t mind see him have a few games as the defensive midfield player but in reality what we need in there is a player who can control the game and drive us forward. McAtee did his best but the much discussed need for a front target man was yet again obvious but if his penalty or Khan’s great first half effort had found the net maybe we all forget about the starting eleven and formation and instead applaud the depth of our squad which just demonstrates all that really matters is getting the three points and we really need to do that more often at home.

Why are we having a go at Efete. He certainly wasn't my man of the match. But what about McAtee, as brilliant as he is, he misses a penalty and little, if anything is said. If the penalty miss was anybody else they would have been slaughtered on here.

Efete is playing because Hurst thinks he's good at what he does. Make no bones about it if Hurst didn't like him he'd be out and not a regular in the team. Hurst is the expert in whom 1878 put their trust and we contribute to the income of the club, not the signing of players, nor the picking of the team because we wouldn't be any good at it. If we were then we'd be a manager in the prem or championship at least.

Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions but hounding players because they are not our favourites, for whatever reason, is not on.

The trouble with efete is that ifhe has the ball the moment a man is stood in front of him he stops and plays it sideways or backwards and the forward momentum ends. It's every single time and it means we are dysfunctional in possession on the right hand side when he's involved.

To add to this, having just watched some highlights, both Amos and Mayer let their man get a cross in to help make the goal.

Funny how others see it. Just got back and surprised to read a lot of criticism (not just here). Thought we played well. Certainly no worries about physicality, more than matched them. Even if we’d not equalised I’d still have thought the same. Made them look very ordinary. Also thought Maher and Green did well.

Couldn’t go today but in context a reasonable result.

Just on Effete - Generally teams conceded goals not players.

As ever win, lose or draw a player has to be a scapegoat,  I’m really surprised nobody is having a go at Pepple for daring to be injured.

I sometimes wonder what visitors to this message board from other clubs thing, I bet they p1ss themselves laughing.

Stevenage where as far below the level I expected them to be at as Doncaster where above . There blond no 20 was a new candidate for the most annoying shithouse of the year. Efete is much better in a back 5 wing back role where he has more space and isn’t pressed on the ball he has all the physical attributes to be a very good player but either lacks a football brain or is not a natural footballer which ever phrase you prefer.Would prefer to see someone in advance of Mcatee even it’s just to scrap rather an accomplished hold up player Orsi must be worth a go. Why did we let Mcatee take the penalty we know fromlast year he’s an instinct player rather then with to much time think

Enjoyed the match, in the end. Most of the first half was poor — I'm not sure we looked all that comfortable with a back three — but into the second half we got stronger and up until Stevenage scored I thought the only winners were going to be us!

In the end we got the equaliser we deserved.

Stevenage weren't as dangerous as Bradford but they're well drilled, organised and motivated. And they played in the image of their manager with the usual shîthouse tactics, but that's par for the course. Didn't expect anything less.

This dip in form is very similar to last season's. The performances aren't up there with what we've already shown we're capable of, which is a concern, although again, like last season there will be no question mark over Hurst's position.

We have very clear limitations, most notably the striker situation. I know fans are calling for a new striker but we have plenty at the club already, so if none of them are going to be given the opportunity to lead the line then you have to wonder what any of them are doing here.

I'll be brave and say McAtee was well short of his best. You can tell he's a quality player because his technical ability is clear, but today he just didn't affect the game. He put in a shift, no doubt about that, but his missed penalty felt inevitable given the way the match (and our form in front of goal) is going.

Though our league form isn't great right now, I feel confident that we'll pick up soon. This isn't the kind of team, or squad, that will struggle. Form is temporary. We'll be okay — we might not storm into the play-offs but we'll finish higher than our current position of 16th.

No one player at fault for their goal and actually it was a quality finish. Deserved at least a point but with our lack quality in the final third it was always going to need a bit of luck or an error from them to get all 3.

Yes, we do miss Taylor.

Also, I think teams will be starting to work us out more and more. We need our combative midfielders to get momentum and get on top, allowing us to get closer support to the front player. Break that link and we struggle. Stevenage were trying every trick to fragment the play and the useless ref should have booked at least one of theirs for simulation. He eventually started to ignore it and stopped giving them everything, but did nothing to punish it.
