Not a bad watch under the circumstances. Some rawness on show from some of the younger players second half but also glimmers of their potential at times.

Big positive for me is that this is the second time a diluted Town side has faced an equivalent League Two outfit and on both occasions we’ve looked comfortably the better side. Bodes well for our chances over a long season.

Only slight negative was that the crowd was bigger than some Scunny home league games will be this season.

£10000 for a win. Should pay for some new LED lightbulbs.

that's not to be sniffed at. A good night's work at bp - we've come out on top in a number of ways

Seem to recall we beat Notts County not sure what year but between our 2016 return and their relegation, that’s if I remember correctly!!

Yep, 2-1 in 18/19. Rose (pen, obvs!) and Hessenthaler.

Good to see a few of the newer signings and loanees get minutes. Didn't watch the match but from what I heard:
Maher an absolute rock at the back and so brilliant with the ball. Amos absolutely solid and always an option bombing forward. Clifton absolutely controlled the midfield and was everywhere, Khouri looked very lively. Simmonds showed a few glimpses of class, Khan looked like he slotted in very very well. Orsi might just have that finishing touch we need in some games.

What a brilliant squad we have to choose from this year.

Well I enjoyed that, went back and forth about buying the match pass but glad I did.

Lots of positives- Khan looks very good, may well live up to expectations and I suspect will be on the bench Saturday. JMD excellent, really want him to force his way back into the side, like some others have said he seemed to track back much better. Maher I thought looked solid and clearly a big physical presence. Orsi I feel has a lot of potential. And Khouri and Clifton controlled the middle, especially first half. To those who don't think Clifton can play in the middle- just watch back some of those passes and tackles from tonight (but I also feel he is great on the left as well).

What all this demonstrates is just how good a squad we now have. I don't think I have ever known us have strength in depth like this before. Huge credit to Hurst and his team for their recruitment- it has been excellent.

I thought we were excellent, first have expansive, second half we maintained our shape and were solid under pressure.

Stand outs for me were Khaaaannnnnn, JMD, Orsi, Clifton and Khouri, although by and large the majority of the team played well.

So much depth in the squad now its fantastic. Would hope after that JMD has played his way into the matchday squad.
