Really like the look of Maher as well, his movement and passing reminds me of Van Dijk

Superb! We'd be idiots to let him go, he at least derserves to be a sub ahead of some of the others who've been getting on ahead of him. He nearly always scores or makes a goal.

I'm afraid if he can't conquer his (alleged) personal issues, then he will be on his way

I would think the fringe players are keen to make a point, which is exactly what you want.

Town are playing well. Any of them could step up to the first team if needed. Orsi and Khan are looking very useful

Really enjoyable and encouraging first half that. All you can really ask of these games is for the players not currently in the starting line up to give the manager a headache on Saturday and they’ve certainly done that on that showing.

Khan excellent. Orsi isn’t exceptionally pacy or tall but he’s not too shabby in either regard and I like how he plays off the shoulder of the centre-half; we haven’t don’t much of that in recent games.

JMD reminding us of his quality. Amos looking solid as ever. Even young Khouri is looking strong in the middle of the park - would like to see him get some regular games on loan in the National League.

Then there’s Maher who looks a class act. That’s a real tough one as you can’t justify dropping Waterfall or Smith, can you? Short of a change of system which is equally tricky to justify, what on earth do you do there?

Slightly odd to see more Mansfield fans there tonight than Town. Curious.

Wonderful pass from JMD. He should be on the bench at the very least because he’s the most likely to create something from nothing other than McAtee. If we could just give him Clifton’s energy levels he’d be a superb player.
