Someone passed me this article and I thought it would be of interest to the wider fan base, hence why I chose to share both on here and Twitter. This is definitely worth it's own thread - I never look on the ex players one so would never have seen it.

I hope for Scott's sake that he is innocent and nothing is proven against him, I would not want to be spending time in an American prison.

In what way did it surprise you?

That someone could get to the top of football management in this country Knut's and not be found out beforehand that he had done illegal dealings financially.

There were allegations dating back to 2006 about Allardyce and his agent son (Craig).

A couple of Allardyce’s close managerial friends in the Premier League were fond of repeated, interesting and highly questionable transfers too.

Craig Allardyce also played for Boston Utd under Steve Evans during the ‘fraud years’.

How the hell in view of that did the FA give him the England job. They need to take a hard long look at themselves.

Obviously, the Head of the FA at the time when Mr Allardyce was appointed (Martin Glenn) is beyond reproach and is of unquestionable ethical and virtuous standing.

It is purely a coincidence that his time at the FA coincided with a particularly murky period of football corruption. I am also certain that all due diligence was followed when Mr Glenn was involved in the proposed sale of Wembley Stadium to Fulham’s owner, Shahid Khan.

Despite the allegations against Mr Allardyce and his son, I am confident they are both people of strong moral character.

Another compelling character in that Boston team with Allardyce and Steve Evans was Lee Power.

Swindon Town are currently in Court fighting a winding up petition in relation to some interesting deals that Power negotiated when he was Chairman of The Robbings.
