Your songwriting is on par with mine,

Absolutely bloody fantastic crap.

You’ll change your assessment when you see the next verse.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.

Had some haddock and chips on the Orkney Isles. The fish was ok, but the chips were easily the worst I have ever been served.  Could have shoed horses with them.

Had some haddock on the Isle of Skye a couple of years back and it had bones in it. Now THAT is sacrilege.

You think you would get decent haddock and chips up there but twice I've been sorely disappointed.

Thank you. Have a word with DB. He hasn’t got your taste. 😆

(I am right in thinking Galway did a version of Annie’s Song on his flute?)

I do have a taste for Guinness, Red Wine, and of course HADDOCK.

No haddock currently being sold by my very good chippie.  The reason given is that stocks are in in short supply and the price has gone up.   Customers (besides me and 1 or 2 others) will not pay the higher prices.

Maybe something to with the shortage of drivers, but see the different distinction with haddock.

I'm a fishmonger and can confirm fish prices are horrendous. Cod in particular is off the scale and I haven't bought any for two weeks. A year ago I'd pay 6-7 quid a kilo for fillets. Last week cod was 11.50 a kilo fillets. Haddock, 9.50, madness. Worrying times.

I remember in the late 1950's, chippies served 'split haddocks' which had bones in and they were cheaper than the fillets. I don't know how they were prepared. See

why's it gone up so much fishyboy? coz if you're buying down dock the shortage of drivers doesn't come into play.
Lack of staff on dock? people given up fishing during Covid? Brexit?

I don’t see the attraction of these craft beers. To my palette they are overpriced foul tasting muck. Tried dock beers, brew dog, and message in a bottle, always disappointed. Give me a pint of Batemans XB along with a nice piece of haddock.

Much prefer a draft beer to bottled. And if bottled, prefer a real ale to a craft beer (yeah I know the line is blurred). Besides I don’t like wearing skinny trousers and my beard isn’t bushy enough for craft beers.
