£13,000 is the figure I remember. Cheap at the price, though, as his goals and all round performances played a huge part in keeping us up. Relegation would have been much more expensive. Technically, one of the best players to wear a Town shirt in all my years of following the club. RIP Zhang.

Terrible news this, despite being at the club only a short while he developed an affinity with the fans.

  This is very sad news. So yesterday this ex-professional athlete celebrated his 48th birthday in apparently excellent health and today he drops dead ? I suppose these things do happen, but it seems like there may be a bit more to this story.

I don't recall him being that brilliant defensively but that was perhaps due to communication issues with his teammates. I don't think he spoke a lot of English, did he? I remember him as a real threat aerially - a defender known more for his goals, than stopping them. Didn't realise he'd won quite so many caps for China and had won so many titles over there.
