Having managed us, you could argue that he's already been there
Good point!

He's long gone now.
Whilst we should never forget his disastrous reign here do we really need to know every time he takes an opportunity for self-promotion? There will be many!
This. He's gone - let's forget him. Not worth our interest.

Come on, hands up all you who pleasured yourselves over your keyboard when he was appointed.
I don’t understand this point of view? Are you suggesting that it’s not appropriate to change your mind? Of course we were happy when a former premier league manager and someone of the profile of Holloway was appointed. - the childish comment about “pleasuring yourselves over your keyboard” isn’t needed I certainly don’t find the appointment of a manager sexually arousing and I doubt there was anyone who did. However, I and many others were pleased with Holloway’s appointment. His management record was above league 2. He’s an established ‘name’ and his PR was excellent. visiting schools, improving the area, engagement with fans, having a ‘football man’ on the board, referencing Shankley, Mcmenemie, Buckley. Talk of his phone ‘melting to his ear’, players wanting to come and play for him ... it was exciting wasn’t it? And we’re not used to excitement. For me, it was a little worrying that Holloway seemed to strengthen Fenty’s position but at the time it appeared that the deal with the consortium was dead and there didn’t seem to be anyone else queuing up to invest in a Grimsby. At the time Holloway was appointed who were we to know how it would turn out? The evidence at the time would suggest that it was an excellent appointment. But, if it makes you feel better to belittle other fans crack on. Can you tell us how we’re supposed to feel about Hurst please?

good post Darren - i was absolutely thrilled when he was appointed and he gave the whole club a huge lift. I've said previously that i am convinced in a few years time we will come to see that there was a pre covid holloway, which was very good and a covid era holloway which was disastrous.I would not be in the least bit surprised to find that he had some fairly serious mental health issues during that last 6 months. Despite how badly its turned out Holloway has given me some great memories - the games at Orient, Mansfield and Bradford were amongst the best away days i've ever had. And he signed some bloody good players - Clark grandin and the 2 Burnley lads

Well said. Harryharryharry you really are a plonker. What a ludicrous statement to make and shows a lot about your mentality.

Excellent post. Every new appointment is greeted with enthusiasm be it manager or player (paid for), and the appointee will tell us we're the best, it's an honour to be with the club, I love the fans etc. Until something goes wrong and hindsight is brilliant. It's the way of football and everybody does it. Rarely their is 'I told you so' but 99.9% we're their praising the virtue of the new man and what he'll do. This is in no way an excuse for oloway but it is the nature of a football fan.

DB - I assume you are disagreeing with Arryarry?
I was certainly excited but must admit I didn't even have a semi on. Like all good conmen, he lured the bulk of us in. I am sure there are those who will, with hindsight, insist they always had their doubts. 🤔

I was the most excited I've been since Mike Newell was appointed.
