Why is it clear? And, which players?

Where the intercourse have you been this season, we have let in some really excrement goals and when we do the players look as if they don't give a intercourse.

Even PH suggested similar after the Scunthorpe game

Coming back to LJL, We certainly would benefit from him returning.

Just listened to the RH interview with Stefan Payne. though he sounds well up for the fight, the truth is he has been out injured for 14 weeks and will need to be brought back gradually. As he says, he does not want to rush it and end up breaking down.

Given that Hanson is injury prone we really do need another, fit, forward to lead the line. The kids are just not good enough at the moment.

So let's hope he does in fact join.

I always thought that LJL's work rate was a great benefit to his defenders as the opposition players rarely got the chance to coolly pick a pass with him bearing down on them. With our defence, it's the sort of thing we flipping well need!

Think some memories of LJL have clouded a bit over time.

He was strong and could hold the ball up with his back to goal, but I don't think he brought players into the game particularly well. His first touch was often terrible.

Don't get me wrong I thought he did OK for us last time (would've been better had he had a prolific strike partner, the target man isnt usually the one who gets the goals) BUT let's not let ourselves think he was a Gary Jones type linking play up with clever classy touches.

Yeah, I agree. A forward who was a 'handful' for defenders with the physical attributes for higher division football but not, perhaps, the skill most of the time. Very good at penalties, however. A useful lower division striker which would be an improvement on most of our current options. If he's the same player as before.

Look as if they don't......are you in expert in body language.? They were absolutely devastated at the end of the match today. Lack of quality, certainly. Lack of effort, no chance when watching today.

The Shop of 6 years ago would certainly improve us. Think it's doubtful we can expect that, but even 80% would probably at least energize the attack.

Have to agree with Tommy about LJL's first touch...generally heavier than strictly necessary (being kind).
But I made this point on the thread about Andy Cook also: the guy can be effective if he battles for possession relentlessly (defenders do make mistakes...),
and we know the Shop will do that.

So I'd be happy to have LJL back - and the straw I'm clutching at is that Coke gets or has been signed and turns out to be the business.

It's the endless hoping that wears you down...

We aren't down yet, BTW!

If someone said you could perm two from the three of Hanson, Payne and LJL for the rest of the season, I would be happy. Experience, guts and the three of them have reasonable scoring records.
