Can't see why the Government would stump up cash towards a football stadium, community related or not. 20 million plus is a lot of money to try and pull together and as ska pointed out, none of the current pot they have is earmarked for a new ground. I just can't see where the funding is going to come from. Hope i'm wrong...

They had no problem with West Ham?

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

Can the club apply for grants from the FA and  EFL ?

get rid of HS2  and there would be billions available.

So Mr Fenty owns the football club, who really need a new ground, nice Mr Boris says no problem, here’s your 20/25 million. If that scenario was to pan out somewhere along the path it has to be decided who owns the new ground, cannot even see a Tory government giving all that money and then the new ground belonging to the share holders of the club.

Bear in mind that the Towns Fund is to be split between 100 different towns (I think that's what I read). Probably not too much of that going to be available.

Against the backdrop of central government funding for N.E. Lincs dropping £9 million per year since 2017/18 with more to come from next year (£2 million or so, instead heading to those poor, impoverished areas such as Surrey), we are talking chicken feed.

Don't buy the bullshit, look at the numbers. If somebody takes £11 out of your pocket and gives you the chance to perhaps get £4 back, they aren't doing you a favour.

Not to mention higher priority areas at the council that don’t include children’s services on its bottom....

Whilst some funding will undoubtedly be available, the question remains...just where does £20m come from?

But I’m conveniently no longer chairman of 🤷🏼‍♂️

For all the abuse Fenty gets I actually like the fella, and if he pulls an effectively free new stadium out the bag here, after bringing Ollie in, then stepping down to avoid the conflict of interest.....it will be nothing short of a masterstroke.

It doesn't matter whether Fenty ever attends another club board meeting, never sets foot in Blundell Park again, or starts supporting Scunthorpe. He owns 40 odd per cent of the club and the club owe him north of £1.5m. If the government give the club the money to build a new stadium it will benefit him (and other shareholders) personally. The only way for it not to be a conflict of interest is if he had no role in the council that gets the ground built or if he sold up his shares.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Surely someone must have contact With Ms D Abbott. If she could just lend us her magic money tree for a couple of hours we could have a new ground, training complex, hotel, swimming pool, university, and still have enough to spare for two new hospitals.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'
