We were in the corner near the linesman and had a similar view to him. It was given for a handball on Holohan. It looked a penalty to me in isolation (not taking any fouls on Town players in consideration). If it happened at the other end and wasn’t given as a penalty is us we’d be fuming.

It may or may not of been handball one thing is for certain, their striker absolutely man handles tharme to the floor just before it occurred.

forgive this absolutely tiny image but it is handball and a really good spot from the linesman. The referee however, misses a blatant foul prior to this that should be a freekick to us.

It was rose. And his hands and down by his sides. It is never. Never handball.

That linesman wanted to be involved from the off.

That’s the bit I don’t get, if the ball goes in from open play the ref would disallow that for a foul on Tharme

It looked to me like he cradled the ball. It was right in front of me. Play continued and I thought we'd got away with it. The Sutton fans in that corner had a clear view. They were screaming for a handball.

If we are relying on referees and linesman having a great game such that we win against a side bottom of the league and without hope then frankly we are more screwed than I thought we were. It was in fact a poor game between two poor sides who are where they are due to poor play, performances, attitude, desire. And not due to decisions of the officials.


Let’s be honest here. If we are relying on referees and linesman being moderately competent, and not falling out like a couple of seven year olds.
