Allegedly. Although, I was going to say the same thing as you. You’ve obviously got better access to solicitors though (after that incident in Freshney Place with the worm riddled cod). There are an awful lot of doping incidents in cycling where Mr Brailsford just happens to be linked or on the scene (Freeman, Millar, triamcinolone etc). Obviously, Brailsford is English so I’m not suggesting he was involved in any systematic doping. Gerrard, Beckham, Owen, Sterling and Kane have never dived either. |

Iam a big fan of sports science. Other sports use it as well and as a consequence athletic performances have improved over the years . Attention to detail/desire to constantly improve makes a difference where it can be fine margins between winning and losing.

All rooms were decontaminated of any potential bugs too. These are just a few of many, many examples of the small things. Individually they make little to no impact, but collectively the small incremental gains all add up. |

I seem to recall a documentary where an amateur athlete did it in such a way, that it was undetectable in the doping tests. |

These small incremental gains are an underlying principle of continuous improvement. It is so much easier to implement these small changes and they are much easier to find. You do though need everyone on board to make it happen. This was a great driver for GB Cycling. As for other allegations, they remain just that and if anyone thinks that it was just the Sky Team pushing the boundaries in respect of what was and wasn’t ok in cycling then they are deluded. |

Without any reference to Sky and Brailsford I am sure having a BS cover story is all part of any strategy of attempting to cheat intelligently. Ineos policy of incremental crapness appears also to be working.

Yes thats true but I feel even with poor quality players sports science can help them improve albeit there's a cap on how far you can go. Reminds me of players Ive seen in the past who are coming through at league 2 clubs .The desire is all there but they will never make it much higher. As for poor management fair point as thats down to impaired human judgement . Similarly have heard of players preferring one style of management over another "robust management such as a good bollocking " if their standards slip for instance in training and in matches which gets the best out of them and helps maintain levels . |

The advantage is you're, effectively, not playing catch up. Pretty much as we were for 15 odd years. It never failed to amaze me in the first Conference spell when Dog & Duck sides would rock up with loads of backroom staff and kit coming out their ears. We had Dave Moore with a bucket and sponge. That we got out in 2016 is actually a miracle because we were set up like it was 1986.
There will always be a new advantage, someone will come up with the next incremental gain in the strive to improve and outdo.
Nutrition, hydration, rest, recovery, data...they've all come into the game as part of the competitive nature.
