Quoted from LH
There can’t be many people about with two professions as their first and surname.

John Fenty?

A ‘John’ is a prostitute’s client (you could be a professional, John)

A ‘Fenty’ is an ancient Ottoman health and safety profession of deconstructing dangerous sharp objects to the point where they were safe and couldn’t be considered a danger

Iam a big fan of sports science. Other sports use it as well and as a consequence athletic  performances have improved over the years . Attention to detail/desire to constantly improve  makes a difference where it can be fine margins between winning and losing.

Allegedly. Although, I was going to say the same thing as you. You’ve obviously got better access to solicitors though (after that incident in Freshney Place with the worm riddled cod).

There are an awful lot of doping incidents in cycling where Mr Brailsford just happens to be linked or on the scene (Freeman, Millar, triamcinolone etc). Obviously, Brailsford is English so I’m not suggesting he was involved in any systematic doping. Gerrard, Beckham, Owen, Sterling and Kane have never dived either.

I'm not defending the use of doping, far from it.  But I suspect that if doping was/is going on then it would be case, much like in the late 90's, that everyone was at it but certain teams/individuals are better at it and hiding it...

Back to the incremental gains in cycling, there was a brief series on Team Sky a few years back - oddly enough it was on one of the Sky channels.  Brailsford talked about the lengths they went to in order to achieve those incremental gains, the 1%'s as he talked about.  Riders would have their own mattresses ferried around the world, with staff going ahead of the team to the pre-booked hotels to ensure their mattresses were used, helping to get better sleep.  All rooms were decontaminated of any potential bugs too.

These are just a few of many, many examples of the small things.  Individually they make little to no impact, but collectively the small incremental gains all add up.

I seem to recall a documentary where an amateur athlete did it in such a way, that it was undetectable in the doping tests.

And look how things turned out for Robert Millar!

(or did you mean David Miller?)

Good spot flour.

However, I was actually referring to World Cup corner flag grinder Roger Milla - this being a football forum of course. Brailsford had allegedly fed the Cameroonian legend a mashed up paste of oysters, self-raising flour and viagra in a pre-Italia ‘90 boot camp in Tuscany.

Milla referred to it as marginal grains in his autobiography.

It's no surprise that they stiffed Argentina.

It doesn't stop teams being relegated.

It cannot make up for having poor quality players or poor management.

These small incremental gains are an underlying principle of continuous improvement. It is so much easier to implement these small changes and they are much easier to find. You do though need everyone on board to make it happen. This was a great driver for GB Cycling.
As for other allegations, they remain just that and if anyone thinks that it was just the Sky Team pushing the boundaries in respect of what was and wasn’t ok in cycling then they are deluded.

Batch, Crombie, Moore K, Wiggington, Cumming, Waters, Bonnyman, Ford, Emson, Drinkell, Whymark. Love you all, You are the reason I'm on here. You've had help from Todd, Handyside, Futcher P, Groves, Mendonca, Macca etc etc etc. Up The Mariners!!!!!!!!!

Without any reference to Sky and Brailsford I am sure having a BS cover story is all part of any strategy of attempting to cheat intelligently. Ineos policy of incremental crapness appears also to be working.
