As opposed to what?

Hurst is an intelligent man and the tiling contract he has made total sense, especially at a club like town under the ownership of Fenty who went through managers like water.

Hurst is part of this project and he knows that, he’s a legend at Rotherham but again, you’d imagine he’d last 2/3 max. They’re not a stable club in terms of position etc and sometimes you can mucky your reputation.

The Hurst out crew are a weird bunch. I see that giant man baby regularly and he offers nothing other than a big gob, over the top conversations with little substance and boring nonsense about football. He offers no actual reason to get rid of a hurst or any solution as to what would happen should he go.

The Hurst out crew should’ve put this much effort in to ousting the previous owner and the many idiot managers he employed. They sound like jealous ex’s…

Back to topic, my understanding was Hurst signed an extension before Christmas?

I believe Hurst will stay put with Town for several years and has bought into the philosophy of JS & AP. His record since 1878 bought the club is:-

1st Year      Promotion from the NL
2nd Year     Consolidated as a League 2 club and a quarter Final F A cup run.

You can forget about his previous managerial posts as with 1878 it is the here and now that counts. As for Hurst he has a free reign over ALL football matters, here's your budget do what you like. If need be for a push we might find a bit more money.

I'm not saying it's eutopia for him but it's mighty close.

The Hurst out brigade are just weird fornicators.

If we even make the playoffs next year or, by some miracle, we go up, it puts Hurst above the Lord and Saviour as our greatest ever manager.

We point to our 98 promotion but context is everything and last year is off the scale in comparison…

The Hurst out brigade I suspect also hold the view McAtee isn’t all that and his attitude is causing issues, again complete bollox, some people are only happy when they’re unhappy.

I’ve absolutely no issue with people having different opinions, it’s good for discussion but I at least expect people to put forward a credible argument to justify their view…sadly, none of them can. They just point to cliches and poorly understood stats…

I don’t get it at all. I’ve been watching them for over 40 years. In that time we’ve only appointed two managers who’ve got us promoted. One is Buckley…

Some excuses they often use to justify their drivel…

“He worries about the opposition…” - literally every manager does, there’s a reason Man City went for the jugular against Bayern…

“His substitutions are never early enough…” - not only do they fail to understand how the subs process works now, the games where this is trotted out is usually when we’ve been shite anyway. Easy to forgot the remainder of last season from about February onwards where we barely put a foot wrong…

“He cupped his ear”

“He’s dour and plays boring football” - again, absolute drivel, I remember games in that 97/98 season, we were flipping boring as hell sometimes.

And basically, he told some truths last time he was here and people didn’t like it.

Another favourite I hear is ‘he’ll never get us promoted’…weird. Apparently getting promoted the first time whilst working under the worst owner the clubs ever had and then last year which was some sort of miracle doesn’t count…

How about he can’t recognise attackers ….. clearly, just like Hannah, Hearn, Palmer (loan) , Bogle, Amond, Jackson (loan) McAtee and maybe a couple I’ve missed who did well for us or went on to have good careers.

My observation is he knows what he’s doing, is well organised, drives a high standard in the club and wins players respect.
