Green looking lost. Needs replacing. Clifton busy on the right and looks a good outlet.

That game turned because we brought on some actual attackers and started creating chances as a result. Delighted we turned it round but I wish Hurst would take the shackles off from the start instead of setting up not to lose. Their back line shat themselves when Pepple came on and started pulling their defenders about, and Wearne put in a very good shift on the right stretching play. Orsi also looked useful and played a part in the build-up to the winner along with Glennon who was quality second half. Efete still looked dodgy and kept giving the ball away, and we really got away with them fluffing a one on one with Crocombe with a weak effort straight at him after Smith slipped up, but you've got to ride your luck sometimes I guess!

Well done boys, fantastic result that as Walsall are no mugs.
Think the confidence from the Forest 2nd half will really kick us on. Plenty of things to be happy about, Orsi coming back to full fitness, Pepple's great cameo shows he has to start.. We never know when we are beaten.
Absolutely buzzing tonight.

A game lasts 90 minutes and it makes a lot of sense to have Taylor on at the start and then bring on a young inexperienced player late on to terrorise a tired defence.  PH looks to be doing a great job easing Pepple into the side.

I'm old enough to remember when Darren Mansaram got thrust into the first team under Paul Groves because he had no real other options and it pretty much destroyed him as a player.

Unless you’re Man City or Liverpool, it’s a struggle to blow teams off the park in the first half.

You don’t win games in the first 45 mins but you can lose them.

I would rather be in the match with 20 minutes to go and try and win it from there than be 2, 3 or 4-0 down in the first half because we’ve played a line-up that’s too attacking (e.g. 4-4-2 and JMD for instance). Particularly away from home. Shorten the match into a 20 min funfest and let our fitness and camaraderie carry us through when the space starts to open up.

Sometimes it won’t work, such as against Sutton (although we probably should have still won that late on). When that happens you take the point and move on to the next one.

These threads are hilarious after the fact. We are useless and heading for relegation, then 20 mins later we are ace and heading for the play offs.

Maybe, just maybe, Hurst knows what he's doing and being away from home, keeps it tight and introduces more threat when the time is right. We certainly keep going for the whole 90.

As for Clifton; he has his limitations but he will keep on going just as strong at the end as at the start and he must be a nightmare for whoever is marking him. He's started adding goals to his game. Seven last season and could have been more. Two today and got us three points.

Great result today.

If you can lose them then surely the other team wins them

Time will tell, I feel like the starting line up was caught lacking and dont think hurst tactically planned a half time change, but we'll see, if he keeps doing it and it keeps working then he's a genius isnt he
