You serious believe that? Players talk to other players (teammates and at other clubs). Some players have big mouths and talk to other people.

Re: Macca. He was the highest earner at GTFC and club captain. We then signed James Hanson on £2,500 a week & Macca had a temper tantrum literally on the eve of the new season (19/20) & Fenty buckled & matched it.

I was told a month or so back that Macca will be leaving at the end of the season. I took it with a pinch of salt as he was still in the team, but he was dropped about a week later.

We will see, but I imagine he’d have to swallow a huge pay cut if he did stay at the club.

I don’t read the board for obvious reason anymore, although it was suggested to take a look last evening

Your right Matt Hanson was on a bit, but in no way was Macca paid anywhere near that level. He has been a brilliant servant of the club both on and off the field. (For God-sake it’s his testimonial year and doubt we will see many of them in the future, doesn’t that count for something).

It's true in negotiation he pushed me to the wire which I subsequently joked about. (Good on him and a very enjoyable experience indeed). He certainly did not spit his dummy out, and I saw management potential in the way he handled himself 'very astute')

He's a top lad and I don’t believe for one minute he deserves the vile spouted about him by so many on here !!!! by!!!! self-proclaimed supporters??? on this vile forum which drowns and drives rational debate away, because they only see things their way.

Macca, good luck and the very best of wishes to you and your lovely family. I’m sure so many more will join me in thanking you and will always be grateful for the years of stability memories and professionalism that you gave and will continue to give the club and thank you.

Players read these forums and so do owners!!!! shame on you!!!!

Kind Regards

I'm a big fan of Macca, and haven't enjoyed reading the negativity towards him.
However, I don't think it's at all appropriate for an ex-director to be discussing player salaries in public.

Why?

Had a feeling people might question it.
Life is too short for hatrid.
Do I want him at gtfc? No.
Do I dislike the way he run the club? Yes.
Do I wish him a miserable life? No.

Getting lectured on “rational debate” by John Fenty?! lmao, not in this lifetime.

Whilst you’re lurking on here, you might as well take the time to publicly justify why you think you’re entitled to siphon off transfer proceeds rather than allowing the club to pay back your failings loans at a reasonable rate?

Some of you lot on here need to crawl out his arśe and have a bit of pride. Unreal bootlicking in this thread!

Heavy night last night, and so as these things go I crimped out an absolutely horrendous shít this morning. Honestly, I’m not exaggerating, it was like the very gates of hell had opened up and exploded into the porcelain pool below. The only thing missing was a mushroom cloud.

I’ve opened up each and every window in the house, used up a full bottle of bleach and cranked the Air Wick up to MAX. The stench simply will not go. You can practically chew the air. No word of a lie, it’s absolutely revolting.

Anyway, the moral of this story is that just because the turd has left the toilet bowl, it doesn’t mean the smell won’t linger for a considerable time to to come. Of course, this has absolutely nothing to with this thread or anyone who has contributed to it.

I started to enjoy your post until you described this as a 'vile forum'. It's not vile only unless you want to interpret it that way. For the most, it has rational and well thought out views. The vast majority on here want the best for Town and see it as their opinion, which sometimes is not the opinion of all.

This is what the forum is all about, sharing opinions; otherwise, it would be a dictatorship. Even some fans have a bit too much vino on a Saturday night and post some rubbish, just an opinion.

So thank you for your info on Macca but 6,000+ forumites are not vile on this site.

Some are….. on another thread someone has started passing on a rumour about our current longest serving player being pulled for walking out of Tesco without paying for stuff, not necessary that is it?

What are footy forums for, if not to spout sh1te and unfounded rumours? It's the nature of the beast I'm afraid and if you care to look on any football forum you can name, you will find the same, if not worse. The internet has replaced the pub rant and brought it into the public domain.

Think people get too precious and if it bothers them that much, don't read it. Most of it is bollox anyway.

Of course, all the sh1te is outweighed by thoughtful and balanced posts, which don't get people frothing at the mouth. The few inflammatory and pernicious posts get seized upon and talked about in forensic detail by the terminally affronted.

Humans can't help spilling the beans if they think they are party to something others may not know.

There's a saying that is apt. Two people can't keep a secret, unless one of them is dead.

Anyway John, perhaps you should be more concerned about the sh1te emanating from the leader of your party and his minions. Now that is seriously destructive and vile.

Good write about Maaca John. Fair point.
But as usual you couldn’t do it without a dig at the fans and also this forum.
I sincerely hope someone in Liverpool fuks your business up the way you have done to our football club. I hope they ruin you, walk away laughing and still take money off you as you try to rebuild your business. Now that would be Karma indeed.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

The illegitimate child of Green & James, sadly if he knew witch direction the goal was he’d be injured anyway.

No need to kiss his ar*e though. Don't wish ill on the man but the sycophantic comments are cringeworthy.

How were those comments kissing his ar*e?  How were they sycophantic?  He said he doesn't want JF to have anything to do with GTFC.

Go away John, nobody wants you at the club.

I actually agreed with most of your post but if this forum is so vile why are you posting on here??

All you've done is run the club into the ground. Please don't think you can makes amends now...

You make some decent points. However, had you not told everyone that Macca had played hard ball over the contract, maybe many wouldn’t have jumped on it. I’m not sure how many chairmen would reveal that information.

But, hey ho, none of your business now, is it?

If it is really you Mr Fenty, why don't you write off the money you're waiting for, if you are a true fan of the club you could easily afford to do this and leave with at least some sense of dignity.
Alas, I await the red crosses from your physcophants and apologists.

New poster season ticket holder for a long time
I feel this debate should not be taking place a true Grimsby Legend a fantastic keeper which have given me and many fans great memories given loyalty to the club when many have not
I feel ashamed that Macca should ever come into any criticism for anything he has done or not done for GTFC
A true GTFC legend once again UTMM.

Fenty picks a subject to suit him - a subtle dig, trying to act the friend of our great club. I, like many, see through his egotistical persona. Arrogant self adulating member, Go, leave, intercourse off - don’t claim the Trust’s money as yours - do one decent thing!

Dear Nelly,

I have not seen these before and after having a quick skim its abundantly obvious they are in part factually incorrect. There is no context from others and particularly me, and they seem to be that, mostly of the writer’s opinion and scant information pieced together from here there and everywhere.

Until you walk in another man’s shoes you haven’t of a clue, but what i do know is that I gave the club 20 years of my life with absolute dedication having faced so many unimaginable obstacles along the way, So however people wish to interpret these stories is a matter for them.

Kind Regards

John,

If you're going to stick around can you please drop the first "M" in "UTMM" as it reminds us all of that sorry excuse of a manager that stuck £500 of his own money in to become a director.

Many of us have asked Ian ourselves what exactly he personally knew about the potential involvement of your good friend Alex but maybe you could enlighten us as Ian only seems to surround himself by his friends that don't ask him the tricky questions.

John,

No one is questioning the amount of time that you spent at the club and what you did (or didn’t do). The majority are scathing about the financial surroundings of your tenure and the share issues. Yes, I understand that it was ‘your money’ and that you’ve reached an agreement with 1878 for a payment plan to reimburse yourself. Now, given that we are in this god damn awful league, can’t you put your supporters hat on and ‘benign them’ again until we get back into the safe footing that is the football league? And also, this matter of the money for the trust shares. Would you be willing to speak honestly about why you feel that you don’t have to give them (the cash equivalent) back to the trust?

I’m not sure what walking in someone else shoes has got to do with people questioning someone’s inability to run a football club…anyone that takes on a role that can be identified as divisive should expect criticism and the likes.

Doesn’t matter profession it’s in either…

Might be waiting for a house sale? 🤔

Had he got a house for sale? How would anyone find this information out if they wanted to?

Well, apparently it's on Rightmove, in the Grimsby Telegraph, andddd on various social media outlets including the Fishy.

You know, you can even get his address off Companies House. Really.

John Fenty UTMM

so ,in other words, the majority of it is correct

If they were factually inaccurate, which in turn would make them libellous, why hasn’t the honest one taken them to task…

‘In part inaccurate’ or how’d we it was phrased suggests many parts were and are indeed fact…

Isn't someone at Codalmighty a forensic accountant or something similar?

He was on radio Humberside around the time of the takeover.

Why can't honest John answer the simple question about the trust shares? If he gave us a simple explanation and reasoning behind why he is keeping the money then maybe we could put it to bed

I think we all know the answer: greed.

Prove me otherwise John.

I don’t believe he obtained it illegally, but morally it wasn’t his to take but when he swears blind he’s done nothing wrong there isn’t ever likely to be an answer or apology…

He believes he left the club in great shape and the things he did a good job…whilst he maintains this stance it’s highly unlikely we’ll ever get so much as a ‘I’m sorry, I made mistakes’ without there being caveat like ‘walk in my shoes’ or ‘I was pilloried’ or ‘it could’ve been much worse’…

Dear John,

You were notified about the Cod Almighty series by one of my fellow Fishies four months ago.

Your response at the time was, ‘Beacuase i havent read them, dont need to and dont want to’ [sic].

With your history of spurious legal claims and complaints, this is surprising. Maybe the Wirral air is mellowing you. Maybe it’s your lack of success in court in the past. Maybe it’s because the fans aren’t footing the bill for your contrived claims any longer.

Lots of love

Knut

Well whether people like it or not, on this occasion JF is right!

Course he is. It's disgusting some of the things I've read about James McKeown who deserves better from us supporters. Ten years of service, he'd have had opportunities to move on (especially given John's ludicrous policy of allowing contracts to expire).

Perhaps some of the stuff said about Macca isn’t kind but it’s a forum and much worse has been said about other players, just because Macca has been here ten years doesn’t mean he’s off limits. People have an opinion, just our John, who isn’t right, he merely offers an opinion. An opinion that isn’t valid when you’re morally corrupt and fail to provide explanations to genuine questions…

No it's not kind and a lot of it is out and out bullshit.
Because he's been here ten years doesn't put him off limits but it should buy him a lot more respect than has been given by many.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I agree to some extent but if we apply that logic, we’d have to be kind to Fenty…
