It’s a shame we don’t have a Prime Minister who prioritises protecting the NHS and key public services ahead of protecting himself, those in his inner circle & having to worry about the nutters in his party from sending letters in to Graham Brady & finishing him off.

At times of crisis you need a leader who does the right thing ahead of making himself popular or making decisions based on being re-elected in the future by pandering to the anti-everything mob.

If it was Drakeford or Johnson give me Drakeford everytime.

Which part of banning football fans from attending a game in an open air stadium but allowing them to gather together indoors to stream it instead would you describe as ‘doing the right thing’?

It’s utter lunacy for a variant that so far has caused a decline in deaths and hospitalisations?

Sounds a lot to me that Drakeford (and others) are jumping the gun to save their own backsides just in case, at the detriment to the rest of the population and without much logic to it.

It’s so far from concerns about public safety now and all about one up man ship  to further one’s own career, if it was ever about public safety…

They would be an independent nation, dictating their own fate. Once 'divorced' the influence of London and the UK over Scotland would be no more than the influence over say Norway or Iceland, i.e none.  The EU would gladly have them in, Scotland especially if only from a military strategic position.  Independent of the Union, Scotland would have to apply as per Article 49 with the requirements that they meet the Copenhagen criteria, which they would as a former member of the EU (under the UK umbrella).

Don't see how the borders would be an issue to be honest.  The only opposition I can imagine would be from the likes of Spain as they've got their own internal issues with separatist movements, but as long as the separation from London was legal it would go through smoothly.

Would the EU gladly have them seeing as they will likely be a net receiver rather than a net contributor to EU funds?

Seeing as how much bother there is regarding the Irish border purely because of the Good Friday Agreement that the border has remained open I very much doubt the EU would allow an open border between England and Scotland.

They had a 9000 sell out on Boxing Day !!
I know there are arguments as to wether they should be in an ‘English’ league. And the same for Swansea I guess.
But playing behind closed doors whilst all your opponents don’t have to doesn’t seem right to me.

So Cardiff are OK then?

They're all tyrants, the lot of them worldwide, with few exceptions. Covid's weakened to become a cold, no more no less. Chance for wholesale acquired immunity and the end of the pandemic, yet they're determined to keep the fear and control going. Now Omicron is here and Delta is on the wane and disappearing, fook the politicians, fook big pharma and fook the MSM..And fook the Covid lemmings.. Spot on...real world data is proving Omicron is far more transmissible yet those infected are presenting with symptoms no worse than a strong cold!
Plus the majority of those in hospital have contracted the disesse through nonsomical transmission.
As for Drakeford and Jimmy Cranky, both have gone power mad with Covid and are relishing the limelight it affords them!.. Johnson's got his cabinet on his back and actually shown some backbone and not bowed to the hysterical modelling from the idiots like Ferguson, Guptra and Pagel!!.

I hear a lot from, generally, divs about governments using the pandemic to “control” everyone. What does that actually mean though, relative to how much of your life is already controlled by the state?

Like, what’s the end goal from telling people to wear a mask (but being unable to police it, and with the maximum sentence being a fine)? How is that any more invasive than the well documented surveillance apparatus that monitors almost every second of your day, all your communications & all your movements? Or the fact that state bodies have recently been given legal authority to kill, torture or rape members of the public when they see fit? Or the fact that protest in this country has now been made illegal?

I’ve ignored most of the noise around this issue because it’s just boring. It’s mainly a load of boomer Facebook meme shíte from people who’ve had everything go their way their whole lives, and have lost their minds the second they’ve been in inconvenienced in a minor way. But all this “control” discussion is borderline offensive given that it comes from people who’ve usually said zero about the actual erosion of civil liberties in this country.

Almost right. Not the boomer bit though. Most boomers are vaxxed up and playing it safe because they realise they are more vulnerable. It seems to be more younger people < 50 who have joined the tinfoil hat Brigade on this one particular issue.
