Fenty Ban Poll (Merged)

This used to be a decent forum but there are a few trolls letting it down these days.

I think banning him altogether will be beneficial for everyone, including GYFR himself.

He’s not going to be banned and he’s not broken any forum rules. Its best to just ignore him imo

Could always PM him if anyone has any desire to ask him anything but with his forum posts, personally think its best to ignore

He’s doing himself more harm coming on here than he would if we banned him.

On another thread some posters have expressed the opinion that Getyourfactsright should be banned from this sight.
I totally disagree with this sentiment. The more this individual posts on The Fishy the more we will remember the damage that he did to OUR club . It will also allow him to try to defend the indefensable and expose him for the charlatan that he is ( he may need a dictionary to know what one is).

As I said, let the buffoon keep coming on and embarrassing himself…

When he comes on here, he just shows exactly why he should have never run the club in the first place. It's quite sobering really and makes you wonder why so many got taken in by him.

Agreed, he should slide into history rather than reopen old wounds. It's win/win for him. Enjoy the easy life and let others take on the burden (and it is a massive burden). If he's posting, it should be like any other fan, saying what he thought of the game/players/who we should sign/etc

Except he isn't doing that. Him and his merry men like Filipe are here intent on disruption. Pretty sad lives for grown men to lead to be honest.

Fenty is not going to get kicked off of here, he's protected. Threads about him are locked or moved to non-football to protect him. Fenty is still allowed to hide his presence when he's online, unlike other posters.

He's made his threats in the past and now people are scared of him.

He should certainly have his privileges revoked if he is to stay here. Despite what he thinks, he doesn't fund our club anymore and should be treated like every other member on this forum.

This is an open forum. I think banning anyone with an opposing view is unnecessary otherwise the forum just becomes an echo chamber for one belief.

As long as the forum rules aren't broken then I'm all for allowing anyone to post. But, by posting you accept that a counter post can be made.

Getyourfactsright has as much right as anyone else to express his opinion on here as everyone else and I'm "tickled pink" that he's chosen to do so. But here's the crucial part, he no longer has any more than that.

He's a former chairman/owner/major shareholder/board member/principal funder and his opinion now carries just as much weight as anyone else. He's no longer "in the building"

Let him post away to his hearts content. Its better on here than it would be on the official site if he was in charge.

I have an intense dislike of Mr. Fenty. IN MY OPINION he is a moronic idiot with the mental capacity of a tadpole which has just failed to get into tadpole grammar school after failing the tadpole 11+ due to not being able to put a coherent sentence together.

However he should be allowed to express his opinions on this forum, no matter how poorly constructed and written, just as I have above. If he is not in breach of the rules then he should not be banned.

I BELIEVE he is an egotist and he craves the attention and loves the fact that he has created yet another furore. Ignoring him will hurt him far more than a ban ever would. Being allowed to voice his opinion only for it to be ignored would be the ultimate humiliation. Next time he comes to a match whenever you see him you should turn your back. It'll kill him inside.

And if GYFR and FN are reading this, and I'm sure they will be because it's about them, then they should know that I CONSIDER them both to be CUNF's

As soon as the contracts were signed he should have been told never to show his face at BP again.
That didn't happen so like anyone else he's entitled to take his seat at the game unfortunately.

I don't particularly like what Fenty has done in the past. However that said, we are a country of free speech which other people died for so that we may enjoy it.

It is a forum and although he is entitled to his views you don't have to agree. You never know he might just change his opinion, give the Trust a £200K donation and take out the transfer clause in his sale contract. Pink elephants may also be seen flying over BP.

Unless he breaks forum rules, let him stay.

I’m not sure why people seem intent on banning everything these days , I’d certainly never vote for banning someone from a message board for having a different view or opinion .
It just seems to be the modern way of weak people to deal with stuff in this day snd age

If JF gets banned it will be a disgrace.
Whatever you think of him (and that isn’t much in my case) he is still entitled to a. voice.
I wonder if some of those calling for him to be banned are the same ones that were disgusted when he tried to stop our opinions being aired on here.  Pot, kettle and black springs to mind. He shouldn’t have any privileges, but shouldn’t be discriminated against either.
Let’s not lower ourselves to his standards. We are better than that.

As for ignoring him, absolutely not. There are already too many of his årselickers on here and in the stands, and I can’t sit back and allow him to whitewash his role in almost killing the club over two decades. In the 143-year history of this club, NOBODY has done a worse job, in any capacity, than Fenty. The bloke’s a failure in every sense of the word. That’s his legacy, a fücking FAILURE. Absolute loser, bottom of the pile, worst of the worst, lower than a snake’s belly, complete junk, shïte.

He should be reminded of this fact at every opportunity. Maybe one day it’ll sink in and he’ll develop a sense of shame and just disappear. Until then - SHÎTE. FENTY OUT.  Give us the £200k and pîss off.

He can post as a fan if he wants to, he should get rid of that stupidly confrontational username though that was created with the sole intent of undermining any negative comments about him. Fenty and his cronies did more to stop free speech among the fans, media, players and club staff than anyone else so not sure why he deserves that courtesy.

However, not my forum, not my rules and he hasn't actually broken any forum rules. So I can't point at anything specifically and say he should be banned. He's hardly a supporter of free speech himself though.  

Everyone has a right to freedom of speech. Just as everyone has freedom to hear, read or listen to others opinion.

If you don't like it. You simply ignore it.

In Fenty’s case, it’s also good to have him pop up now and again as a reminder of what a tool he is and how bad things were.

I don’t think he comes on here to get just any kind of attention. He’s not one of those childish trolls who just winds people up for the sake of it.  He’s not here for the brickbats, he’s here for adulation. So I will go on not-ignoring him.

Pretty confident it won’t drag us down. I think people are quite capable of arguing with the bloke whilst staying positive about the present and future.

We live in a country where free speech is accepted as a right. To ban someone just because you don’t like them or disagree with their opinions is just fundamentally wrong in a free society. As much as I’m pleased JF does not own/run the club anymore, to ban him (assuming he does not break the forum rules), is in my humble opinion abhorrent.

I think the classic Voltaire quote best sums it up -

“ I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say that Fenty is a rat and should hand back the £200k plus transfer fees”.

Not sure I would use such inflammatory language as abhorrent, which I’m sure it wasn’t meant to be btw. When this is just a club forum and not the United Nations. The man is at best divisive and I think we should add. Relegate the club to non league as a reason to be banned. Anyway as I said I’m in the minority by the looks of it. So we’ll just have to keep dealing with it.

Yes it is just a club forum and not the United Nations but the principles of free speech are exactly the same, a right. Abhorrent was a bit OTT though I must admit!! #UTM

And JF - to my mind at least - is not a fan of the club.

I get the free speech stuff*, but under Fenty a fan was told to "shut up" by a GTFC director at a fans' evening.

I can't remember the names, it's going back many years now. Some weren't banned, but scared off with legal threats. Then there's those who were invited in for a tete-a-tete with Fenty after posting something on the fishy.

We can talk about freedom of speech, but there are a number of ways people can have their freedom shut down. Fenty has controlled this board for a number of years by being allowed to have his way.

It's not like they are simply banning someone, they are asking the question to see what the overall view is. And more don't want him banned than do. Fair enough. If he isn't banned, individuals can block him or ignore him.

If he stays, perhaps he can answer the Trust shares question. (I dont expect an answer)  

We could have a follow up poll, what do fans think should happen from the proceeds from the shares?

Those shares that Mike Parker gifted to the Trust.

I think this forum gets unnecessarily a bad press, on twitter in particular, and I enjoy the range of.views it airs, and appreciate Rob and the team's hard work.

People.say don't read the fishy on twitter, based on the moaning if we don't win, or premature criticism of new owners, or simply asking questions where the answers are readily available on official site or club interviews etc..

Some of that is justified, but it remains the best forum we have, with some very good posters and great ideas like sponsor a player, prediction league etc .  And it's not as if twitter is perfect either!

My view, far better to read and contribute, than go elsewhere and moan about it!

It can be a struggle on here at times, but so too can Twitter. Like you say though, there isn't an alternative which is good because then you end up with diluted discussions.

In the periods where I don't get to games very often, I am thankful for the posts of certain people on here who tend to reflect my views at the games I do get to.

Best football forum by a country mile compared to other clubs……as for Fenty let him have his say, if it upsets you move on. I personally couldn’t careless as I have moved on, as have GFTC…….UTM!!!

It's a new era, why trawl over that moron, not worth the effort.

More effort into support for the club and the new team would be time better spent.

You probably don't talk to people you fell out with, so same with Fenty, nobody needs him anymore.

Let him post, I for one will ignore and concentrate on the good things that's happening.
