Morais either showed admirable restraint or realised he would get battered if he went for him. If that had been me I'd have put Payne on his a*se.

We don't know the exact words Morais used but I want to see players calling others out. It's called leadership. Hurst is saying they are both to blame which I think is harsh on Morais.

will morais play again ?

He’s clearly been a good player but when I sum up what difference he’s made he’ll be no great loss either.

Hopefully Payne's contract is terminated.

I have a very responsible job and if I walked into work on Monday morning and did what he did today then I would be sacked on the spot and escorted off the premises and I would never get to work in the industry I am employed in again as my name would be mud.

What even if he went up to him and said what we all know? Something along the lines of “ you’re a c**t Payne” then again maybe Fil should get a pay rise for saying what many suspected.

Your point about leadership is an interesting one as no disrespect to anyone but we’ve been sadly lacking in that department on the pitch this season.

I don't think you can blame Hurst for bringing in Payne. I think it's fair to say bringing in a bit of a nasty illegitimate was a chance we had to take from (I guess) the limited options out there at the time. He has done a few alright things but has also been an accident waiting to happen.

plus he knew Payne and had got the best out of him at Shrews (and he's had a pretty good partnership with the shop) so in the absence of sergio aguero being available to us in january it was a reasonable call to make

ps when the knowitalls next say 'you can't judge a new player upon what his former teams' fans say' can you please refer them to Stefan Payne/Tranmere fans and gasheads?

Football is its own worst enemy at times. Hides behind contractual nonsense and rhetoric that has no depth.

Payne should be sacked, simple as. It’s gross misconduct. It’s arguably cost us the chance of a result and brought the name of the club in to disrepute.

I mean the headbutt summed him up because even that was half arsed.

Morais didn’t have to say anything but then perhaps it gets tiring working with someone who has the audacity to moan yet doesn’t do their job properly.

I guess the club, in theory, will carry out an investigation in to what Morais said and decide his fate to. Would he be a great loss? Probably not, we’ve been better without him in the side to be fair.

If hurst is saying both to blame that’s not showing me leadership that’s bottling it,only one of them resorted to violence . I didn’t watch the game but I’ve watched enough to agree with the gas heads who find it incredible he’s a professional footballer

I was hoping Payne would come in and help shithouse us to survival, angrily proving a point/trying to earn a longer deal like Barry Conlon in 08/09. Unfortunately he's been more like the Barry Conlon of 09/10 (and that's harsh on Conlon, who despite 2 reds, at least managed 5 goals). Definitely one of the laziest players I've ever seen.
