With all things Mariner's at the lowest I can ever remember (aside from the last time John Fenty got us relegated from the football league), I think it's time for another organised and peaceful protest against his reign.

Under John Fenty, we have almost been relegated from the football league on THREE different occasions. We have spent SIX seasons in the Conference - absolutely unthinkable. And I think we can all see what is going to happen unless we are very fortunate this season.

I know he wants to go, I want him to name his terms publicly. Is he asking too much? Is there anybody at all interested?

I call for an organised protest in the car park and in the stands. It is time for him to go, I am prepared to take my chances on the grass being greener. It cannot get any worse under his tenure, he has been a disaster for Grimsby Town, my patience has absolutely run out.

Time to go John, time to be open and honest about the 'benign loans'. The club is worthless, the ground decrepit, the team awful. We have been looking up at Scunthorpe for years, now even Lincoln are a better and bigger club than us. We are pathetic, and it's time for someone else to have a go.

Name your terms, publicly. Leave our club.

Best form of protest is not to attend BP.

It’s got to almost breaking point for the fans of gtfc v JF now . The last 15 years have been an absolute shambles and it’s from the top down that there needs to be a change . He can’t defend his position.

It’s alright talking about protests on here but do the fishy posters seriously think that this fishy hatred of Fenty is a general consensus amongst the other 5000 town fans?

The fabled fishy minority. I think you will find that roughly the same representative sample of people on the fishy who are anti Fenty, will be reflected in the general fan base. It's how Mori polls are conducted.

Unless you are saying that most fishy posters are particularly venomous and troublesome. My regular group is now down from four regular season ticket holders to one season ticket holder and me. I'm still going, just, but on a game by game basis. The other three in the group, two of whom have given up, all blame the board for our predicament. None of them use the fishy.

Make of that what you will.

You best pop round the 1,000 + who have stopped going, 5,000 Town fans, not with whats on offer, I don't hate Fenty I wish him no ill, however I hate what he and his yes men has done and continues to do to the club, both he and the yes men need to go, their time is up, just go already.

Do you love Fenty now, since he had a word with you.

Erm, re-election days anyone? Haven't we hovered above the trap door several times in our illustrious past?

Good God that was decades ago!!

Are we not to try to reclaim our club from the one person who has just about destroyed it, because at some time in the distant past it was as bad??

Yes we have been as bad in the past, but was it for such a long period, or was it just the ebb and flow you get with lower league clubs? Fans expect a bad season or two, but we never get the good ones that balance it out and keep you going. We can't even compete in this league, which given our fan base is unforgivable.

Yeah spot on.

Remember the fishy protesting about the Checkatrade format.

Your mate John pointed out that we were the noisy minority.

How embarrassed were we when the non fishyites turned up in their thousands.

Oh.......

Hang on .......

I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'

This is it for me.
I would like to know from the board why we cannot compete at this level and I do not agree that decent players can't be attracted to this area. Just ask others who have come here in the past and actually settled in the area

Erm, Saturday's attendance was nearly 2,000 down from the opening day.

A protest, and I presume you mean yet another one against Fenty, by lowering the attendance is all well and good but it's a long term policy. He's not going to go based on a few slightly lower attendances which will go up again, protest or not, as soon as (or if) we start to win a few.

If anything, what is needed is an even higher attendance to roar the lads on to getting a few wins, they are demoralised enough already with six defeats and Jolley's management, they don't need even emptier seats.

I will however take part by not attending any home games this season

Protest, whether it be vocal or non-attendance, can only really be detrimental to the players who seem demoralised already.

The issue of the board will not go away, the only thing that we have learned in the last 12 months is that we discovered that Stephen Marley is as incompetent as the others. We are stuck with a regime that has spent 16 years trying to justify financial strangulation.

Does anyone have a straight and accurate answer to this simple question :  How does Town's playing budget compare with the other 23 teams in League Two?  We already know we have a bigger fan base that most of them, but what about the money given to the manager to create his squad?
I honestly can't decide on where blame for the current situation should be without knowing the answer to that question. We may have a manager who's a bit out of his depth, but it's equally possible we may have an excellent young manager who is simply not being provided with the tools he needs to do his job effectively. I wonder how so called "great" managers would get on if they suddenly found themselves trying to work miracles on a shoestring budget at the wrong end of League Two.

I have no idea but he has doled out more 2 year deals than any manager in the last few years so I guess it was reasonable, I guess as ever  what most supporters would see as "competitive" differs from what the board does

It actually takes the focus off the players being shite. The last protest at saw a vocal bunch support the team and call for Fenty to be out.

Might be good for the players and management if the negativity is directed elsewhere.

I’d like to see vocal opposition to the board in the ground on a regular basis, not just until we win again. We know change needs to happen we need to push for it.

I doubt anyone does know the answer. But given our attendances it's a sign of gross incompetence that we can't compete season after season. Regardless of who's the manager.

I have had enough of Fenty at GTFC and if WE the fan`s don`t shift him now it will have a massive impact on whether GTFC survive long term.I honestly think with him we have NO chance of any new ground he is far too confrontational with those he needs help from to deliver and his atrocious record on Manager`s cannot be allowed to continue.I have said it before but in his situation 16 year`s of failure why oh why does he not get Buckley appointed to the board for his football expertise and use him in the interview process? Would Buckley with 1000 games experience most at GTFC have given the Manager job to Bignot after interview when we had a settled team? Would he then have compounded his error of judgement here by reappointing Slade? Then MJ who now as the job having pulled off the great escape with two experienced assistants alongside is now floundering and needs help and guidance rather than the sack.HELP SOS HELP 16 YEARS

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Nothing will change while he remains. Do we wait until we are in the Conference again before we wake up and start demonstrating against him? It isn't personal, but surely it is obvious that change is needed? I respect other peoples opinions, and I am open to debate if anyone wants to try and change my mind. But while the fans sit back and accept this utter crap being served up, things will never change. It isn't like it's a bit of a bad run, it's systematic failure and has been for around for as long as John Fenty - anyone see a pattern?

The thing about protest is that it has to be aimed at the right target and have a possibility of some effect.

MJ and the playing/coaching staff must be feeling pretty low at the moment. So any form of vocal protest in or around the ground can only be a negative to them. Even if directed at JF.  And let’s face it, JF is fully aware of the fans feelings and quite clearly doesn’t care anyway.

As much as it pains me to say it. The only successful way I can see is by non attendance.
Losing cash is the only way to hit JF where it hurts.

Crazily enough, maybe a smaller crowd wouldn’t do the players any harm.  Not being able to hear the audible groans with a misplaced pass or hoof forward.  No booing at half/full time.
It’s not like they’re getting loads of encouragement (understandably by the way) at the moment anyway.

I’m currently recovering from an operation, but very nearly ignored Drs orders on Sat and went to the match. Fortunately I didn’t. A few tinnies and an afternoon with Mr Stelling was far cheaper and more enjoyable. If not careful, I could almost get used to it. !!!  I certainly won’t be paying £20 for non league sh1te.

Back on topic. The only way to make JF take any notice is to stay away in droves.
But he needs to be aware that unlike with Slade. It’s not the manager that we want to go.
It’s you John. And take your sycophants with you.
