I can only think that MJ doesn't rate them as being ready for league football just yet. Can we do any worse by giving them a shot though?
What they both have in abundance, and we severely lack... Is pace! Terms would naturally drop deeper with these two in the side!

I don't think Jolly is up to league football.

If you read my comment properly, what I actually said was "perhaps Jolley doesn't rate them as being ready for league football JUST YET".... as in he obviously sees potential but perhaps thinks they're too raw to play professional, league football"at this moment in time, hence the loan move. If you're going to call comments stupid, at least ensure you've read them properly first! What a stupid comment to make!!

It's beyond belief we have no wide player Wright out on loan, no pace up front we send Rose out on loan. They should pushing the first team or playing we need to throw them in they can't do any worse.

I think their month (well, 28 days) is up on Thursday. I don't think they can be recalled before that. Will MJ still be in charge after another game?

Boston trying to extend the loan deals! They were both subs last Sat but got on to influence the game. I thought the deals were about getting game time? Surely they would be better off on our bench than one a few leagues below? Also IF there is a managerial change then the new man needs to evaluate all his options at first hand https://www.lincolnshirelive.c.....s-talks-over-2063698

They should both be given a chance here because they both have pace and that is something we are lacking, I know they both night be raw but the experienced pros in our squad aren't exactly playing well are they! Quite frankly they couldn't do any worse and Wright is a natural winger which again is something we don't have, if their loans are extended it will be a terrible decision.

I think we will see them in and around the first team, they were placed at Boston to get game time and show they can perform at a higher level than they had played at previously. They seem to have been a success and done everything asked of them. The other option would be to try and get them a loan in the conference prem, but I'm not sure if that would be worthwhile as their path to our first team is not obviously blocked by outstanding talent.

The thing that baffles me, other than them being loaned out in the first place when we have been crying out for pace and commitment, is why did we let them play in the FA Cup for Boston......? They're now cup-tied and won't be able to play for us at any point in the competition. I reckon we'd need them at Old Trafford when we storm through the first 2 rounds and draw Utd away in round 3.

Forget about extending their loans, get them back and in and around the team to show the rest of them what some hunger and energy can achieve. Let Boston have Robles until January to keep them sweet.

It is difficult to comment fairly as I haven't seen a lot of Max Wright or Akeem Rose. What I do know is the players currently in their respective positions (Martin Woolford and Wes Thomas) are not delivering. The team lacks any sort of pace. I do know both Akeem and Max have pace to burn. Max in particular has been ripping it up in whatever team we send him too. Remember, he isn't a young kid, he's 20 now. I am sure they will both have benefited from playing proper competitive football. I did notice early in the loan Rose had to come off with cramp which suggests he may have been some way off match fitness wise in the Football League. Rose is clearly hungry to play, I don't see that in too many of the current players.

Kills me all this about Wright....if Clifton can demand a first team squad spot why not Wright??...the kids played far more mans football than Clifton and been pretty damn successful yet he gets shipped out on loan again after pencilling a new deal might I add, He must wondering what on earth he has to do to get in our first team squad, certainly looking at the shower shite that gets the nod before him... I get sending Akheem for a month, just to get him match hardened and in fairness Thomas does a job and was unlucky Saturday not to score but we need Akheem back now, his pace and skill, which I have witnessed first hand, would scare the shite out of just about every defence at this level....never mind the "he's one for the future" b@ll@x, we need him in the present...

Well if we lose one more game we can not put it down to the young fads after losing 6 on the trot without them. BUT I get where your coming from 1 or 2 more defeats could be the end of Jolley, I think with both on the bench we have a more attacking force and more likely to score a goal if we need one. What am I saying ? I mean to score a goal WHEN we need one.

Don't forget that it was Woolford who made our first goal on Saturday with a very nice turn and cross-field ball, and that Wes has only started about 3 games so far this season. Plus why were Rose and Wright both only on the bench for Boston at the weekend? Hardly suggests they should be starting games for us - though I would like to see them on the bench and used regularly.

No, he hasn't. Clifton played a whole season at Grantham the other year when they were playing a division higher than Scarborough. Not to mention a dozen League appearances for the Mariners since then. Not saying that Wright shouldn't perhaps be on the bench or getting some game time with us, but he's less experienced than Clifton. For reference, Scarborough Athletic were 4 divisions below us last season, Grantham 3 divisions below.

Fair enough on Woolford, since the MK Dons game he's looked poor, anonymous at best. But not sure what you're expecting from Thomas. He's not a target man, that's obvious yet we're trying to use him as one. He's actually got a half decent turn of pace but doesn't get any chance to use it because of how we're using him. Akheem Rose comes in and we'll still lump the ball up to him, expect he's nowhere near as physical as Thomas so would have absolutely no impact at all. Wright, in my opinion, should be starting games. He offers natural width and can/will stretch a team with his running at teams. Woolford (on his day) and Embleton can run at teams but want to come inside. Vernam isn't a winger, nor is Clifton. Hooper just isn't good enough. Pringle I want to see start games but he doesn't strike me as a proper winger rather someone in the Beckham mould of excellent delivery rather than beating his man for pace/skill. Same as Rose though, he would be ineffective if we don't start using the ball properly.

I can't see them coming in and getting a chance now. If we win or draw tonight, the team will probably remain unchanged to try and build something. If we lose, then Jolley is probably another loss from getting sacked. That would take balls of steel to bring in 2 youngsters that have only played a handful of games, 2 levels below this.
Most likely they'll stay at Boston. Or we could try them in the checkatrade trophy and see how they get on, but throwing them in against the side 3rd in the division above is asking a bit much.

From what I can gather from the Boston forum, Rose and Wright had 2 poor games and that is why they were on the bench on Saturday. They seem to want to keep them as impact players but not starters.

They keep scoring though.. Will be good to see them in the match say squad when they return, think the pace will be great for the last 20mins to either stretch a defence and push them back to protect a lead or to use the pace to hit at them hard going for a win.

I'm not expecting anyone to single handedly save GTFC but considering some dreadful individual performances last season and this and those players still being picked I wouldn't mind seeing them being given a chance.

I’d be surprised if the reason jolley has sent them out on loan isn’t that he wants them to be part of his first team plans pretty soon .

Which would imply that Boston feel they've got better players than our two, which I would strongly doubt.

Rose will offer us real pace off the bench, something we don’t have. We also now have Cardwell who offers a bit more of a target. I really do wonder what part Robles now has to play, I’m not even sure what type of striker he is, or what his main threat is.

FA cup Rules
Temporary (loan) Transfers (i) A player on a temporary (loan) transfer is ineligible to compete in the Challenge Cup Competition unless permission to do so is given by the lending Club in writing and a copy is received by The Association by 12 noon on the Friday prior to the date fixed for playing the Round. Any permissions must clearly state that the player has approval to play in The FA Challenge Cup Competition. A registered Trainee or a player who is registered on a Scholarship for work experience may play for another Club, subject to written permission being given by the Club that he is registered to and provided that such permission is received by The Association by 12 noon on the Friday prior to the date fixed for playing the Round. The Association will not give permission for players on loan or work experience to play against the lending Club. (ii) A player recalled, at any time prior to the date of the Round, to his original Club from temporary (loan) transfer, in accordance with the terms of the loan agreement, may represent his original Club. Such player may only play in postponed and replayed matches if he had been recalled in time for the first match in accordance with sub- paragraph (i) above and (iii) below as applicable. (iii) A player on temporary (loan) transfer is eligible to compete if transferred by the lending Club to the loaning Club after the date and time for player qualification for a round but must have been eligible to play in the original tie. (iv) Players on season “long term loan agreements”, are not considered “loan” players for the purposes of the Rule, and are therefore eligible to play in the Competition.

Only had one viewing of Robles and he looked a million miles of being fit enough to play any part in a matchday squad. Not sure of his circumstances pre GTFC but trust me he is not the answer.

He was playing in the regionalised Spanish 4th tier which is a mixture of pro, semi and amateur clubs. The region he was playing in is one of the more lucrative ones to play in at that level so it is highly likely he was training 5/6 times per week plus match days.

If nothing else , MJ is well versed in the development of young players. I would imagine he has a schedule planned for Rose, Wright and Robles. Rose will have benefited from his month at Boston and obviously MJ intends to incorporate him more with the first team. I would imagine Wright will also be recalled at some time in the very near future. I don't know what he plans for Robles but obviously they do come into his further development. The fact that he hasn't gone out on loan ( as yet anyway ) indicates he wants his development to continue at BP. If nothing else I do trust MJ's decisions when it come down to developing our young talent.

I’d have thought Jolley saw something in him as a young player and felt he could develop him. I would guess he is on relatively low wage so MJ felt it was a gamble worth taking. He hasn’t shown anything to suggest he will be a success but nobody gets all their signings right
