Radio Humberside has a duty to serve the fans, not the club. So if they believe the fans are interested in who’s rumoured to be the next manager their duty is to investigate it.

Journalism is about investigation and asking the questions fans want the answers to. I appreciate that doesn’t mean you make stuff up, but I don’t think RH make stuff up to be deliberately antagonistic. Their reputation is constantly on the line.

Mis-report often enough and you lose trust, as an old manager would say.

RH isn’t the mouthpiece of the club. It reports on the things that are often left unsaid so we, the fans, get a fuller picture. I think, on the whole, they do a very admirable job.

I agree Rich they are meant to serve the fans.

But recently they are making stuff up and are not "investigating" and asking questions and instead releasing statements tbat are not official.

Two points. First, Radio Humberside is not "releasing statements". It is reporting news, just like any other independent media outlet. Second, where is your evidence for the claim you make. I won't repeat it because journalists are taught that to repeat a libel is as bad as to originate one.

At the end of the day shouldnt it be the club to announce if they spoken to managers (which of course they wont)  not RH.  

If you read back through the posts the news surrounding JA RH said sources close to town have approached JA.  Yet Macclesfield say they haven't received any formal approaches and town have said they are diligently going through the applicants and haven't approached JA.  My little rant was based around this.  So I'll leave that there.

Where do the club say they haven't approached JA?

This is what the club stated :-

"we can confirm that no candidate has formally been offered the position at this time".
