Facing administration.

https://www.justgiving.com/cro.....p;utm_term=J4kjQy9R4

Didn’t they throw a lot of money at the team last season, signing the likes of Podge, only to be relegated and now struggling in the Conference.

I don’t like to see any team in such a situation, but this feels like karma.

I want to feel sorry for the genuine fans of Hartlepool Utd, but the minority that gave us grief when we faced the same issues make it hard.

The club mascot even paraded around the ground before a game with a bottomless bucket.

Karma.

Different Hartlepool to the one we are thinking of surely  .....the one we faced the other year were MASSIVE , had millions to spend and although i havn't checked since their supporters assured us they were going to p1ss the league and as a result i think they actually got promoted straight to the Premier League and a wild card entry into the Champions League where they narrowly lost to Barcelona on penalties in front of a 76,000 crowd at Victoria Park.

This article must relate to a tiny insignificant team in the same town.

Great example is how it's not 'practical and quite frankly stupid ' to throw money at 'marquee' players that you cant sustain!

It's pretty shocking to see Andy, I don't blame any Darlo fans for reacting like yourself. I suppose what needs to be remembered is that not all Pools fans feel the same, here in Lincoln I know of a fair few Lincoln 'fans' who'd gladly see Town go out of business, There's more who are decent and would rather play us and see the two teams fight for bragging rights however, as bragging rights are temporary, a clubs closure could be forever.

What annoys me with the sort of behaviour illustrated in your Tweet is that this is their official mascot, this mocking must have been sanctioned from those in charge at Hartlepool. There seems to be no line drawn in the sand as to what decency is on social media, regardless of the subject at hand.

That in itself makes any sympathy for their current plight really hard to find, and looking at that image I can say there'd be no money going into their survival bucket from me.

Is he good enough for this level, and would he be worth taking on a free transfer?

At 28 he's a spring chicken compared to most of our defence and might be good cover for the full back positions?

Can't recall if he ever played for us on the left.

He played left and right back for us and was very good. I believe he’s had a few lengthy injuries since then, though. So not sure what state he’s in!

Apparently 65k, which is a low amount for highly rated young player with huge potential in the game.

Random question. Would a sell on clause carry over to a (not the!) phoenix club?

Edit: I'm guessing not, it'd be a bit odd if your bills were paid 1p in the £ but you still benefitted from this! Although football bills are meant to be paid in full? Fucks sake,I can't even remember what the question is anymore!

When we bought the club, we got the sell on clauses etc from David Stockdale, Dan Burn and Michael Smith. But we are the same club, even though others think we “reformed”.

I’m guessing Pools will have been smart enough to include a sell on clause and appearance fees.

I was there yesterday on a mooch around the North East.
Had a beer on the marina, a bite to eat on one of the old Humber ferries (Wingfield Castle) and a look around the Navy museum.
Plus some decent pubs.
It was brassic but made me realise there's worse places to go.

Credit where credits due for that like. They’ll need to sustain that for the rest of the season.

Rumours are that our ex chairman, Raj Singh, the very same guy who f*ucked us over is interested in Hartlepool.

From our local paper.

THE future of Hartlepool United has been plunged into serious doubt after a deal to save the club collapsed.

Hartlepool-born businessman Chris Musgrave was ready to step in and save his home-town club, but, after seeing the state of the club’s finances, has pulled out.

Pools are in a financial mess and are up for sale. Musgrave was the only hope of saving the club and it now seems administration and even liquidation are possible.

Pools go to Chester tonight in the National League on the back of one win in 13 games.

A statement from Musgrave read: “Some weeks ago, I was approached by Christopher Akers-Belcher, the Leader of Hartlepool Council, to consider the prospect of buying Hartlepool United Football Club, so that it could be saved from financial ruin.

It was clear to me that the Leader of the Council and his officials, intended to do everything possible to secure the long term future of the club, due to its social and economic importance to the town.

“On that basis, I agreed to entertain the possibility of purchasing the enterprise, providing the financial challenges were such, that I could accurately estimate the financial sum I would be required to inject into the club.

“I know very little about the game of football and I am not a football enthusiast, but I do understand the importance of the club to the town, as it has been an integral part of the community for over 100 years.

“It would be a sad day for Hartlepool, if such a vital asset was lost. No one wants to see that happen and I have been impressed with the spirit of the supporters and wider public in their efforts to save the club.

“I have had the good fortune to have been successful in business, for over 35 years and I do have substantial experience in making loss making businesses - profitable.

“Over the past two weeks, I have held meetings with officials of the Football Club, the Council and other parties, which has allowed me to interrogate the historical decision making of Executives of the club, with regard to the financial position in particular.

“I have concluded, that the financial challenges facing the club are serious indeed, but I have not been able to identify the exact amount of cash I would be required to make available to save the club. It has therefore been impossible for me to prepare a financial rescue package or a plan to deal with the long term, which is disappointing.

“No one has ever made money out of this club. That was never my intention and I was prepared to provide finance to the value of over £1.5m, but I am not prepared to sign blank cheques, with no end in sight.

“As it stands, I do not intend to provide any funds to the Football Club, for reasons within this statement, but I do hope the club will saved.’’

What Hartlepool need is knight on a white charger to rescue them, I think looking at our recent past there is an answer. They require a non chairman who can loan them the required amount to keep them going, these loans could eventually be classed as "benign" then they are destined for the promised land of the football league( might take 6 years but who's counting) Once back they will require a manager, someone with a proven track record, who plays exciting attacking football, and can work a computer, step forward a certain Mr Slade. So there you are, all good things come to those who wait.

Despite a few gobsh1tes on this forum a wee while back it would be harsh for anybody to hope another fan's football team could perhaps even crash out of the game. Am glad Middlesborough have helped out so dar, it was Hartlepool who basically kept them going when they went into administration and the gates at Ayresome Park were locked. Boro' played a number of games at Hartlepool, so I sincerely hope the help is going to continue.

That said, it might be better in the long run for the club to go into admin and come back as a phoenix, fan owned club. Hasn't done Hereford badly, and with Pool's fan base I imagine they'd have a great first few years winning league title after league title and visiting grounds they've never been to before.

Perhaps Andy can give us some insight into this?

There have been many posters on here who advocated going into administration some time ago just to be free of JF. They pointed out the clubs that had done so and come out of it ok. If Hartlepool go into administration then that is the other side of taking that route.

Fully agree, if they got demoted as we did to the Northern League, they'd fly through the leagues quickly enough as they'd still have the ground and a huge fanbase with a potential of more if they are doing well. South Shields are doing it now, Hartlepool would be a great attraction for a lot of PT players due to the size of the club.

Look at Hereford, they average about 2500+ per week and are doing very well; I am sure if they get promoted they'll be in the Conference North/South which is incredible really considering how far down they reformed.

Personally wouldn't like to see them go bust as it's horrible to go through. I would however like to see some karma for those select few bellends who follow em and laughed in our faces. So getting demoted would stick a smile on my face. But I reckon they'll be fine, someone will come in. They've got too much potential as a club/land to go under.

Pools need £200,000 by Jan 25th.

Sanchez has just signed for Man Utd for an estimated £350,000 a week

The Premier league shames our once great game.

£505,000 they reckon he’ll get a week.

And agree, whilst we keep watching football on sky. The worse it’ll get.

Today we got our team back - town fan leaving Wembley may 2016

Get IPTV
You get the best of both worlds. Sky, BT, bein, NBC etc all the football you can watch.
Also, no money given to Sky etc.
So I've been told. lol

Thank you Mr Corbyn (Steptoe), you are the best thing that has happened to the Conservatives for ages.

Never said this about any club in a bad situation before and have always wished clubs who end up like that well but...

I have absolutely no sympathy for Hartlepool and honestly couldn’t care less of they go bust. They laughed at Darlington when they went under and they laughed at Leyton Orient and wished bad on them when that club was in crisis last season.

Essentially they’ve spent more than they can afford, thought they were massive, still got relegated and then have the audacity to beg for help after the way they’ve reacted to other clubs in trouble.

F**k them. Horrible club with horrible fans.

I am also annoyed that Hartlepool get lots of coverage for their plight in Non League on Soccer Saturday thanks to JS being a celebrity fan. When Town were non league I don`t recall any ex football league clubs getting a mention with their various problems.Lincoln bucked the trend a bit last Season thanks to a magnificent cup run putting them in the public eye but had they gone out First Round would they have got a mention either?

The club didn't. A handful of gobsh1te keyboard warriors did - there's a whole world of difference.

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

No, the club actually did. Their mascot paraded around the ground with a bottomless bucket on his arm which read "Save Darlo" when Darlington were going bust. Given there were rumours of them paying Podge £3000 a week yet they get lower attendances than we're getting now, it's not really surprising that they're in trouble. They've shown themselves to be classless (see above) and their fans were absolute cockwombles last season saying how massive they were so balls to them.

I only knew one Poolie fan who derided Lincoln for being so crap (though we were) and lauded how great they were compared to us. Made out that they were a big club and wouldn't have it any other way, though I did say at the time that things can easily go wrong when you spend well beyond your means. I don't doubt there are some decent Monkey hangers fans but as others have said, when the mascot does stupid things like that and a lot of fans seem to delight at other clubs misfortune, it's hard to have any sympathy with them tbh.

You should have seen the gloating posts we got calling us Pools feeder club when they signed Amond and Toto before the start of the season. We then got a second coating when they beat us 0-3 at BP and were told we were going down. Then we got to May

Fans take the urine out of other fans and that shite never really affects me. It's sad to see a club in such trouble and I hope they get out of. If they have to start again it'll be an interesting journey

The point is for every failure there is a success, the same as when we won at Wembley a division 4 club failed. This is what makes football exciting, but leave it to the premier and eventually they will have it like American Football, a closed shop.

After the latest news of our ex-chairman coming to take over with Jeff Stelling, I will say now. It's all going to end in tears for them.

I wouldn't wish Raj Singh on my worst enemy.

- No ground.
- 1 player.
- No management.
- No golden share.
- Loss of our rightful name.
- £350k+ of debt us fans paid off.
- Relegated 4 leagues.
- Local businesses out of pocket.
- Staff laid off.

This is the mess Raj Singh left Darlington fans to pick up and sort out, Hartlepool fans take note!

I know they're desperate for survival, but that man isn't the answer & never will be. Can't believe how naive Jeff Stelling has been too.
