Why are Accrington called Stanley ?

Some kid from Liverpool came up with it while drinking some milk in the 80s and it stuck.

Why are Accrington called Stanley ?

Named after another club in Accrington called Stanley Villa and their ground was in Stanley Street Accrington. The original club was Accrington and was one of the original members of the football league but they resigned after about 5 yrs, so Stanley Villa  added the Accrington name and became known as Accrington Stanley..  Or something like that.

According to my book you are close,

It's says when Accrington went bust a new Accrington was formed and funded by a certain Stanley Villa,

They took his name and became Accrington Stanley,

It might have been Accrington Villa if they chose his surname .

Who is the only player to score at the World Cup (in the finals, not qualifiers) for 2 different countries?

(Fairly sure this has cropped up before)

Is it a trick question by any chance, I'm thinking a player who scored for his country and also scored an OG for the opposition?

It should also be said of course, that the most notable thing about Prosinecki's career was fouling Ben Chapman to give us a penalty
