Amazing that losing Niven made such a difference. He is superb.
Then Disley goes off through injury and the game changes again.
Too many changes in the last couple of weeks in important places. Pearson out last week made a difference.
Finally we just don't look confident in front of goal anymore.
Worried that we could slip out of the play offs.

Coming back currently, after disley went off our midfield turned excrement and we lost all our fluidity, thanoj was a flipping passenger he touched the ball like 8 times and naylor im afraid is not as good as thought

Naylor didn't have the best of nights but it was a made up situation with Disley going off. Doesn't just happen does it. What I do know is that the effort shown was much better than the last fifteen on Saturday just appears that their heads go at times. Mansfield where not Kidderminster and another day we would have won that comfortably

Sorry, but don't know what you and Aaron are talking about. Naylor was superb next to Disley in the first half. When Thanoj came on second half it just left Naylor with far too much to do.

If you read into what I said I talked about the made up situation. He was outstanding in the first half but struggled as Thanoj was not really in it again! this made him struggle and you could understand that after the ground he covered from one end to the other and nearly scored too. I was actually responding to Aaron's suggestion

Thanoj was disgraceful tonight. Lathargic and didn't ever want to ball, didn't put a tackle in. It sounds petty but the tone was set by his "warm up" when Croudson told him he was coming on, if anyone else noticed you'll know what I mean.

Agree about the warm up, he didn't look ready to come on at all.
Thought Naylor did well next to Disley, sometimes over plays, but at least he's trying.
I like Thanoj but tonight he was shocking and a passenger, but thats partly cos we started lumping it after they scored.

Personally I'd have slung on the new lad over thanoj. The changes we've had to make have been forced upon us and we've failed to deal with them a couple of times.
I thought naylor did a great job, he tried to get the ball out wide and was successful several times and he was hardly helped by thanoj...

I thought Naylor first half looked like the midfield player we have been missing, hard tackling, closing down and can actually pass the ball.

What a strange thread. Thought Naylor was the best player in the park by a mile... he's like Niven but can ping it about it a bit as well. MOM for me.

Maybe i thought naylor wasn't very good because 2nd half he had to cover for a very very very poor thanoj

1 thing Naylor did that nobody has done in midfield all season, is turn out and look for a ball out the other side.

You mean like a layoff then instant run forward like a "give and go" or 1-2 ?

As in, Thomas would play it into him, he'd then open his body and look for the switch to Hatton or Marshall.

Though Naylor was outstanding - her covered every inch of grass, got stuck in and passed it around nicely! He's faster than what I expected too! Hopefully Disley is back for Saturday because I'm not convinced Thanoj is up for the fight!

Thanoj is not strong enough for this league, to easily knocked off the ball and not enough time on it for him to be effective, hope the Niven detractors are choking on their breakfast this morning, it's only a few weeks ago some idiots cheered his demise....

Think Hurst said post match it was a tweaked (hopefully) hamstring but too early to diagnose.

'Tweaked' hamstring and 'popped' groin. New clinical terminology?!
Only a week or two ago 80's was talking about Disley, his importance and the potential for him to suffer an injury/fatigue-related problem. Let's hope for all our sakes that Disley's 'tweak' only needs a short time to recover because we need his many qualities. On the flip-side, maybe we are about to see what young Dougie from Hull City can do..?

Hamstring injuries are usually a couple of weeks out at least.
Too easy for a 'tweak' to become a tear which can be an issue for months. I'd rather Disley missed the next 4 or 5 games and was fit for a potential play-off push than risk bringing him back too soon though it would be a shame for him if he missed the Trophy Final.

Where did I say that ? Just done a search and can't see it at all. Think if you're gonna speak on behalf of others you should quote them pointing to the relevant thread. I do remember saying that players can pick up injuries - fairly obvious really.

Think Hurst said he hadn't ruptured it.

You don't remember saying that you thought that Disley's autoselection and importance to us might eventually meet with him 'burning out'? I'm not saying he has in this case, but it was quite prominent in one of your recent posts. Good point too. I haven't got the time to do a trawl, and tbh mate, it could take forever with some of your posts(!). Needless to say, you really should try to remember what you post, especially if it's a good point

Sorry don't want t get into another argument but it's just a matter of principle regardless of who's doing it.
If you're saying I said something "Only a week or two ago", you should be able to find it on the Search facility.
Or admit you were mistaken please ?
Like I said, I do seem to remember I made the point about players getting injured a while back. Guess I was probably waffling on about the merits of squad rotation at the time. i.e. not having to bring in players in out the cold (especially if it's last day of the season)

Yeah I do remember that. (though don't recall the "autoselection" bit though, I've talked about resting Dis and playing Niven +Thanoj before) But that's fatigue, not injury. 2 different issues I think.

Yes that's what I was referring to. The phrase 'autoselect' was mine not yours. Sorry for any misunderstanding. I was merely building on your point and offering the notion that Disley's injury might have come about partly through overuse or at least hard use. He has played a lot of games this season. No need to 'get into an argument' surely.

No problem. It's just there's enough people who feel the need to speak on my behalf on here already, say what I'm saying, thinking etc. Just think it's always best to speak for yourself (unless you can quote others). If not best to phrase it as a question asking confirmation. Sorry to be picky it's just a pet hate of mine.

Oh I see. Well that's another issue too, who knows. Personally I'm not gonna jump to any conclusions without any evidence or proof but it's certainly an interesting point in general. Do more injuries tend to happen towards the end of season with more intensiveness/overuse ? Wouldn't suprise me but who knows.
