How can you hear an honest interview too many times? He pulls no punches and makes no excuses, the way it should be. No matter what managers say, at any level, sometimes players go out expecting to win, anybody who has played the game will no what I mean.

A manager can get a player in the right frame of mind before a game,
BUT
After a player steps over the white line, its up to him to perform,
Some players think when they are playing a team near the bottom it will be easy,
They are wrong,
You have to think the team you are playing are better than you what ever their position in the league,
Once they realise that, we will win against the bottom teams.

was there anything why miller was dropped if he criticises the whole back 4 they changed it so that's their fault.
Something was mentioned yeah. Think he said Pearson had been outstanding or something but you're best off to waiting for the interview.

Well i played the game for 30 odd years, anyone can be 'honest' after a game, my point is that their 'honesty' could be avoided if they installed the right mental approach into their players - getting into players minds is what makes good managers apart from average, look at Holloway for instance, apart from Leicester he has probably overachieved as a manager because he gets into their heads in a positive way, managers need to manage, but also need to be man mangers, doubt Scott can do this, not sure about Hurst.

Alright mate cheers, gutted about tonight but I just wish they get them hyped up before kick off, even though I only played Sunday league my attitude was that if I've come off the pitch not knackered then I haven't done enough

Exactly....Pearson was poor this evening but i think the early goal and the nature of it shook them all, it was like the cup match from the other week after that. Dont think we stepped off either, we were gunning for it at 2-2.

True, I've no idea what level you played at, but say local league, you know if your playing in a good side and playing a not so strong team sometimes its hard to get yourself up for a game, and many others around you. Due to the nature of the opposition, you sometimes get a big wake up call the 1st 30 minutes and go on to win the game. Last night, we got that and in that time conceded twice due to errors. I sometimes think there is only so much managers can do regards players mentality. Each to there own though.

I accept what you say about underestimating opponents is a fact at every level (mine was County league/NE Counties)i, but my point is that is precisely when good managers earn their corn, at a high level you do not see Fergusons sides often fail against lowly opponents and its not all about shouting and ranting at the players, its all about getting into their heads, when our managers do that they wouldn't need to make 'honest' assessments or 'tear a strip' off the players after poor results. As you say though its all about opinions - it would be a boring world if we all agreed on everything!
