If Bradley Wiggins holds on in the Pyrenees today and avoids disaster until Sunday he'll add the Tour de France title to his six Olympic medals including three Golds. Add to that his other numerous titles and achievements and would it make him the greatest modern British Sportsperson? If not who would you rank higher. I'm thinking post WWII for this so not WG Grace or CB Fry.

Much as I would love to go for Wiggins I think Steve Redgrave is probably right up there for his longetivity. Victoria Pendleton should be up there for having the best legs though!!

I think the only one that can match Wiggy is Redgrave.

Has to be Steve Redgrave for me, at the very least he is the greatest ever British Olympian. Still laugh remembering the interview with him after winning at the 96 games absolutely exhausted saying how he's retiring and if anyone ever sees him near a boat again they need to shoot him only to return 4 years later and win his last gold.

Impossible to split them but it has to be either Gerrard or Lampard doesn't it?
