I think it's more likely to be 4-2-3-1 with Wood and Wright holding, and Coulson Disley and Winn behind Duffy up top.

Could be reading too much into it though and it may be just a basic 4-3-3 when we have the ball and 4-5-1 when we don't!

Anyone else concerned about Duffy's ability to be mobile enough to hold the ball up for us?  Not sure we have a better option though, in the circumstances.

Sounds like we have gone 4-5-1/4-3-3 to match Luton but they have surprised us by going 4-4-2 meaning they have a lot of space out wide!

Definitely had more of the ball since we changed formation and they didn't create anything of note until right at the end of the half. We are a bit lopsided now though so can see Elding coming on soon.

We can't keep the ball long enough to build any pressure.Every time we get it,we give it away with poor passing.Winn must have given away the ball every single time he got it.

For me,we need Wood off,KHM up front and Coulson back to right hand side.

We usually always give at least one goal away,so we need a goal from somewhere.

Town started 433 and were getting totally over run on the flanks. Went to 442 with Wood on wing and still playing rubbish (IMHO), their keeper not had to make a save. McKweon has made a top class save just before half time

Yep there's your summary Meza we went 4-5-1 with little sticking up from with Duffy and Luton were 4-4-2, so we matched them with Wood right midfield and Coulson up front and with the change in formation we've come back into the game. McKeown pulled off a great save just before HT.

Like Andy says how long before Elding comes on ?

Or Wood slotting into RB, Coulo back to RM and Silk off for Elding and Elding partnering Duffy up front. Really don't like the Duffy/Elding partnership though, neither of them have pace meaning a lack of movement, could turn nasty...KHM on for Duffy if nothings happened by 70 minutes, pace to burn and he hasn't really had a chance!

Trouble with keeping it tight is if they score even 1 dodgy goal, you feel we wouldnt get 2 goals back with the team we have on the pitch.

We started with a 4-3-3/4-5-1 hoping to match them up and frustrate them but they shocked us by playing a 4-4-2 apparently...anyway we changed back to our usual 4-4-2 to match up with them so we had to adjust meaning players out of position, not ideal but since we changed back to 4-4-2 we managed to stop their threat AS MUCH, KHM on PLEASE, he deserves a chance and it's like the 2 don't wanna give him it? Boring'ell

Sounds like the managers have gone there giving Luton too much respect, they've currently been on a bad run so why not go there and play our normal game from the start and go for it? It was a must win game.

I know what you mean but i just don't think we're good enough for the play offs. I can only think of Southport that we've beaten this season who currently occupy the top 5. We're one of the better sides in the league but top 5? Not for me.

Most frustrating thing about today, is before kick off we had a great chance to get 3 points, and claw back a team in the playoff positions. So why play 1 up front? absolutely baffling, we should be thowing everything at them.

Since January we have signed Soares and Winn now Wright and dont think the managers know the best team, and its cost us big time. we were flying until these signings

In all honesty I would have taken a point before the game, so pleased with the result, now we can push on and take the positives form the match into the next one.  We have come from a goal down in a game we were pretty much up against it form the start.

Will definitely take that in the end. Always a tough place to go despite their recent form and we barely created anything. Still got a slim chance now with Luton down to 5th.

Hughes-Mason caused problems once again, should definitely should start on Tuesday if Hearn is still out. Raw pace can cause all sorts of problems in this league.

Delighted. Showed real spirit to hang in there as it did sound like we were getting dicked. Made up for KHM as well.

Playoffs  have drifted further away but still mathmatically possible and our interest in the season is lsting a lot longer than I thought it would a few months ago.

Think it's fairly obvious we aren't quite good enough.

The top 5 sides,Fleetwood,Wrexham,Mansfield,York and Luton have only lost at most 7 games all season.We have lost 12 and haven't beaten any of them.

Southport are an anomaly.Scored less than us,let more in than us but are 6 points ahead.Their away record is better than their home record,which means if we need to beat them at BP,it won't be easy.FGR have beaten Luton and Wrexham inside a week,so if they can do it,we should be able to.

Personally, i think it will be over before we play Southport.

Team spirit seems very good and i think we just need a bit more quality in the final third.We don't keep the ball well enough to put the top sides under pressure.Also feel we need a bit more pace.Will be interesting to see if KHM gets a start soon.

It's a balancing act. Yes, KHM is clealy a good and pacey attacking player but a hard working ball winner like Wood offers the team other abilities. It's all well and good saying we are more likely to score with KHM in the side but if we concede 3 at the other end because we are overrun in midfield then it's of little value. Not saying one is definitely right but there are tough decisions to be made and in general S&H seem to get them right.

I appreciate we got a good result but in terms of a playoff challenge it's irrelavant as far as I'm concerned.

Mansfield didn't look that good in either game, they've hit a bit of form at the right time but are not unbeatable or superior to town. Luton arnt that great a side either nor Southport (the Stoke of BSP, according to Scott). However Wrecsam do look a good strong, organised pacey team. York on their day n given time and space do look good. Fleetwood have strength in depth and their tactics work, like em or not. Ergo 3 teams that I believe are ahead of us developmentally Wrecsam, York, Fleetwood. Two of them could go up this season. Cash strapped teams from Div 2 coming down. Get it right close season with additions and we should challenge from the off.

I think it's such a marginal call. Was it a must win? Possibly. Or was it a must not lose? I genuinely don't know. I think by essentially accepting a point in our tougher games means that we absolutely must win the ones that appear more winnable on paper.

We're still in the hunt and we're a point better off than it seemed we would be late on so personally I am quite happy.

We played a tough away game without our talisman striker and snatched an unlikely late equaliser. Gained a point on a couple of teams who lost. Yeah it would have been great to win but I'm more than happy with a point.

Mansfield didn't look that good in either game, they've hit a bit of form at the right time but are not unbeatable or superior to town. Luton arnt that great a side either nor Southport (the Stoke of BSP, according to Scott). However Wrecsam do look a good strong, organised pacey team. York on their day n given time and space do look good. Fleetwood have strength in depth and their tactics work, like em or not. Ergo 3 teams that I believe are ahead of us developmentally Wrecsam, York, Fleetwood. Two of them could go up this season. Cash strapped teams from Div 2 coming down. Get it right close season with additions and we should challenge from the off.


This is what I really want to see next season if we aren't strong enough this season regarding play-off's.

Not being negative, just realistic, going out just to stop teams scoring eg York & Luton has failed, but when we have had to go on the attack we out scored both teams, proof that this is not working against the better teams. I'll be going to Tamworth on Tuesday so lets hope he puts out a team with pace and skill, because aimless hoofs to Duffy isn't going to get us very far.

Absolutely spot on. We went for a point-only started to play when we were 1-0 down in a game we should have attacked a team off the back of a 3-0 drubbing from the off. Message to Scott and Hurst. Minus Hearn we do not have the personnel to play a lone striker up front. I dread to think what the possession percentages were today in the first half
