Abandon the ballot!

On the basis of the Trust being offered a place on the board (I won't add the obvious), in the middle of this process, surely it is now right and proper that this ballot be abandoned with immediate effect as this news was not available at the start of the process.

Surely it brings into question the way that the GTFC board are operating that this should be dropped in prior to the end of the ballot?

The integrity of the ballot has been irrevocably damaged.

If just one Trust member has changed his vote as a result of the blatant inducement to vote 'yes' that this deviously late announcement is clearly meant to offer, then the whole process is corrupted

I dont read what he is asying as 'vindictive'.  I think he is expressing dissappointment at the way things are operating at the Club at the moment.

I wouldn't go so far as to say there are a lot of smoke and mirrors but the process is far from transparent and I think Ipswin gets the same feeling I do; that the club is being played with like a football, this is a distraction from the job in hand, your brother isn't being quite upfront about what is happening, the goalposts keep shifting etc

I think unless you have been privy to these meetings between GTFC and the Trust the smoke and mirror comment from yourself has been derived from various posters on this board.  People read too much into some of these statements when they clearly are making a guess at best.

Let's concentrate on the Job in hand of winning football matches to get us out of this League.

Where does it say a board place is only if a "yes" vote happens?

How do you know that people now won't vote no because the trust could have a place on the board without gifting away shares?

Its very dangerous to be planning ahead and being totally dependant upon John Fenty, both for him and for the club. Id be amazed if JF wants to keep pumping money in (whether it be via loans or otherwise) into anything more than the short term.

Promotion and living within our means has to be the aim IMO persoanal opinion. We cant rely on someone pumping money in JUST to survive.

I agree but until we either get promotion, or live within our means without a rich man, then we have no choice. How many clubs live within their means btw? and what did it take for them to get there?

Personally, I think this stinks. Fed up of the whole thing but not surprised one bit.

I didn't misquote you at all in fact I included the 'if it can be confirmed' in the quote - my point was that giving a place on the GTFC board to a member of the Trust could well influence the vote (and in the case of many voters simply 'offering' a place would be enough.)

As it stands from your initial enthusiasm I suspect you had no understanding of how ineffective he/she would be and what a minor role the Trust member on GTFC's board would be forced to play even when the seat is 'concrete'

Dress it up how you like, back off from your initial excitement and your change of vote if you wish but the announcement has come at a vital moment and the timing of it is to say the least open to suspicious interpretation.

Woah! I didn't say you misquoted me. I was merely explaining my position.

So are you saying that, providing it's concrete, a place (I won't call it a 'seat' as it won't be a full blown position) on the board for the Trust, however little power it brought (see DavidB's detailed post), would satisfy you and would cause you to vote 'yes'?

What am I supposed to be looking at on the website you quoted?
