5 years ago next week when he sadly passed away.
Remember the awesome song "There's only one Bernard Morley" that was sung at Edgar Street, Hereford when we won 1-0

Thinking about it, i'm not sure if we scored or not now...

Not the game I was thinking. We lost 2-1 in January 1999. John McDermott scored and I think Phil Dowd was referee.

Yes you are right. Coca Cola cup game in August 1994. Wasn't it two legs, and we lost both home and away. About a year or two later we got Jewell on loan when Lennie Lawrence was the Bantams manager

5 years? That's gone quick! I'm sure he's up there pulling the strings on our recent success. RIP a great bloke.

He was the man who ran the supporters club travel for many years. A man with a great sense of humour and also liked the passion of The Town fans.

Oh some great stories of Bernard, one memory is him waving his stick in anger as two fans had a huge argument on the bus.

Also only missed games towards the end of his like due to ill health.

Before that he missed one game in 25 years and that was when his dear wife passed away. Before that she was happy for him to go to games, as he said "she always knew where I was and was not getting into trouble"

A top bloke, that Mr Terry is not a patch on him

I wonder if Bernard told his Mrs about his altercation with some other Town fans at Cambridge back in the late 80's / early 90's...

Someone wound him up that day but fortunately there was someone around to step in between them to avoid any real fisticuffs

He was Town through and through though....as fans go, there won't be many who show the same dedication and love for the Mariners

My main memory was when the coach was stopped on the way back from QPR in 1998 and I nearly went into a coma. Bernard suggested that I went to Grantham hospital on the way home. It didn't come to that though because of the help from Flash and his parents, Swanny, Stu the hospital employee and the Wilbys driver. All did a terrific job and I can't thank them enough

Had the honour (and it was such) of sitting near him for his last three or four seasons.  Didn't suffer fools (be it on the pitch or in the stands!) gladly!

Brilliant guy. Very fond memories. Any thought of getting a brick in his name cos he was a true gtfc legend off the pitch.

It is 5 yrs today that my daughter Nikki died. Many will remember her serving in the Players Lounge, Family Lounge etc, Bernard died the week after her and the Club afforded them a joint minutes applause before the next home game. I have just purchased a memorial brick in her name and would suggest to Terry that on the next Battlebus trip, he has a collection and raises the £25 for a brick (as previously suggested) in this great mans honour.

A brick has already been sorted by the committee in memory of Bernard Morley. Good minds think alike though. Thanks to you all

I used to travel regularly with The Supporters Club in the late 80's early 90's and I can only echo everything that has been said about Bernard.

I don't think he missed a game home or away for about 30 years and I remember one occasion when we were away (I think it was Bristol Rovers at Twerton Park) and he missed the coach, he drove all the way there on his own.

A more dedicated fan you could not meet.

RIP Bernard, one in a million.

No way was an insult even suggested in my post.

I travelled a good 6/7 years with Bernard and Terry.

I saw Bernard as a great friend and Terry is also a great friend too.

No offence taken......just let me meet some heros in the future   (only joking)

Maybe do a Bernard Morley tribute night? He did much more than the travel club. He was part of the safety committee I think. I am sure Terry could tell us much more about Bernard than I can.

the chap was an absolute champion. i cant thank him enough for some of the things he did! i went to swansea away (fa cup i seem to think) on a tuesday night. i was travelling on my own and i forgot my packing up, i was only 16, and he gave me the best seat in the house, and chatted to me all the way there. he bought me some food at the services (there and back) and made sure i had a drink at half time too. such a nice guy that will be a voice of legend with every town fan. i did mention to the club at the time, that his seat should have a reserved label on it. if they took this idea up, i dont know.
