5 years? That's gone quick! I'm sure he's up there pulling the strings on our recent success. RIP a great bloke.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

I didn't go to Hereford. It was likely to have been Action Man Larry

He was the man who ran the supporters club travel for many years. A man with a great sense of humour and also liked the passion of The Town fans.

Oh some great stories of Bernard, one memory is him waving his stick in anger as two fans had a huge argument on the bus.

Also only missed games towards the end of his like due to ill health.

Before that he missed one game in 25 years and that was when his dear wife passed away. Before that she was happy for him to go to games, as he said "she always knew where I was and was not getting into trouble"

A top bloke, that Mr Terry is not a patch on him

I wonder if Bernard told his Mrs about his altercation with some other Town fans at Cambridge back in the late 80's / early 90's...

Someone wound him up that day but fortunately there was someone around to step in between them to avoid any real fisticuffs

He was Town through and through though....as fans go, there won't be many who show the same dedication and love for the Mariners

My main memory was when the coach was stopped on the way back from QPR in 1998 and I nearly went into a coma. Bernard suggested that I went to Grantham hospital on the way home. It didn't come to that though because of the help from Flash and his parents, Swanny, Stu the hospital employee and the Wilbys driver. All did a terrific job and I can't thank them enough
