I don't know why football fans moan about the police anymore, so what if they treat us like excrement, urine us all off etc, did you not know, they are allowed because all football fans are low life scum bags hell bent on causing trouble. Heaven forbid some us don't care about hurting one another but actually care about the game and our team, not to mention our families and jobs etc.
If we were those hippy types that protest against everything then we'd complain and get listened to as the people who claimed to be students did but because we are football fans no one cares...
I assume the 'morons' giving it the bug ones etc were of the fake stone island, tatty trainer wearing kind that starts on little kids and have the odd shouting match with a copper rather than looking for someone who is actually like minded from the team we are playing to actually fight with??

Someone posted on here a few weeks ago that the morons would be heading to Stockport. They really are sad idividuals. They turn out a couple of times a season. abuse the team, strutt and pose around then go back to their hovels for a few months.
York or Lincoln their next outing?

It kicked off between a couple sets of town fans just in front off us. Handbags at dawn mostly but it had the potential to turn nasty.
I thought the police handle it well, seperated the two groups and held one back at the end of the game.
I think it is a mountain out of a molehill, but the police did a decent job.

And the subsequent posts on here about police brutality. The most disturbing thing is that a lot of them are of an age were they probably have kids.

That's about right. Not worth getting too worked up about....I thought the police and stewards did a sound job. Don't know why the same group were singing German bomber songs in the 1st half, mind......at a GTFC game??

I too was sat behind the idiots singing anti-german songs, slagging off S&H, singing if Liam scores where on the pitch - most of them were older than me and I'm in my early forties. It all started with Mr Burns jumping in some blokes seat whilst he was at the bog. When the bloke returned he pulled Mr Burns out of the seat, That started them both giving each other a bit of verbal. The guy who pulled burnsey off his seat was sat next to his son (about 14 years old) who was then crying his eyes out. Then some bloke in a dark blue tracky top started mouthing off sticking up for mr burns. Then the police arrived and they all started sticking up for both of them - it was so comically childish and pathetic it was untrue. The police asked the 3 main people involved to come with them, and the next minute about 25 of them all got up and walked out with the police. After the game they were all penned in outside still giving it loads of lip. If it was any of this group that are complaining that they weren't allowed a urine on the train, then I don't blame the police one bit.
They are a complete embarrasment and I'm afraid its not the first time I've seen them up to similar antics. Pond life the lot of them.

I suppose the morons will pop up again at York. Its annoying as I don't fancy sharing a train with them (and prob tarred with the same brush as them), and I suppose I'll have to try and work out which train/route to York will have the fewest morons on so I'm not hearded around like a cat with the morons by the twatish police.

Well I thought the police on the train home from Stockport were brilliant. Only because I was coming back from a week away and got on the train at Doncaster with my 81 year old mum with 2 suitcases. They even helped to carry our suitcases both on and off the train. No doubt if I'd have been coming back from the game I'd not have been treated with the same respect.

I forget who it was, think it might have been the students, the other year protesting in London. The police circled the protest, and kept the protesters "trapped" or "held" in an area for a few hours. I think I recall reading somewhere the protesters where trying to sue the police on human right grounds for denying them access to toilets!!

It was me who wasn't allowed to go to the toilet and I wasn't in that crowd of 25 just to clarify!
You should have threatened to p1ss in the carriage. If you gotta go you gotta go.

Mmmmm maybe I should sue the illegitimates then! They were just trying to push me into getting nicked ....... Unfortunately am not a complete moron, although at sheff when escorted off the train before been put on it again an officer told me I was going nowhere until he had took my details. When I asked him why he said it was because I was " acting a div" ......... Hmmmm wonder when that became an offence. BTP = ars.eholes

In my experience, I have never met a good policeman.
Maybe you have not, its very easy for anyone to criticise the police but at the end of the day their job is to protect the public so if a group of 25 p/ssed up lads getting a bit mouthy at a football match appear on the horizon what are they going to do? Give them the freedom of the Town and the public travel system......or Keep a close eye on them to protect the public as they appear to pose a potential threat? Its a no brainer. Also when it comes to slagging off the police and saying they are fXcking useless etc (not saying you have by the way just a general comment) then why are they the first people those same people would turn to if someone went missing, got burgled, mugged etc. Police have a very difficult job to do when it comes to crowds of supporters and p/ssed up people just dont help themselves. No, i am not one by the way.

Not touched any nerve with me Terry. The thing I don't appreciate is being labelled a moron on here by someone who does not know me, and who is in fact more bent than myself! Please get all facts right in future before labelling people

This topic is pointless in the first place , 20 lads get stopped outside the ground and escorted back to the train station and people on here are making a big thing of it

Well, stopping them using the toilet would certainly be my first way of protecting the public. That tactic will keep them in a larger group, make them rowdy and provoke conflict, a great system for safe travel. My dad (RIP) once said to me that there are 3 types of useful policemen, sleeping, bent (not sexually!) and dead, that is probably why I'm such a helmet.

the same people turn to the police because they have no other choice if they want to sort something themselves the police get very spitefull and would rather press a charge against you than the real criminal. in my experience they are total waste of space

Having been stood on the next platform to the alleged hooligans waiting my train to Macclesfield I can only agree. There was nearly a policeman each but the fans were stood perfectly well behaved. The funniest thing was a BTP policeman when asked to deal with a fare dodger on another train said he couldn't come because he was dealing with "Forty lads kicking off"...

Police have their uses which usually become apparent when you get older. Police are "b@st@ards" generally when they are laying the law down on you and stopping you doing something illegal which you want to do. Difference nowadays is they will lock you up and charge you on some of the newer legislation for what always used to be a slap round the head, kick up the bottom or truncheon on the back of your leg. Even what would be some of the prison sentence crimes at Burton would at worst be an afternoon lock up so you missed the game and your last train if you were away in the mid eighties. I know. The police only enforce the laws which are handed down by parliament, its what they are paid to do.
